Abstract: A multilink access point may communicate with a legacy device. The multilink access point identifies an attempt, by at least one legacy station, to connect to the access point, determines that the at least one legacy station does not support multilink communications, broadcasts a beacon identifying information for a basic communication link that can be used by the at least one legacy station and associates with the at least one legacy station based at least on information included in the beacon, wherein the at least one legacy station communicates exclusively on the basic communication link with the access point.

Abstract: The subject disclosure provides systems and methods for improved medium access for wireless communication. A wireless access point, on contending for and gaining medium access, may share a time and/or bandwidth channel resource with one or more other wireless access points and/or one or more client devices. The wireless access point can efficiently share the channel resource using buffer status information computed by the wireless access point and/or additional buffer status information computed by the one or more other wireless access points. In one or more implementations, latency information for buffered data can be provided from a client device to a wireless access point and/or from a satellite wireless access point to a control wireless access point.

Abstract: Some aspects include apparatuses and methods for implementing a target wake time (TWT) scheme (or technique) for multi-link wireless communication networks. For example, a multi-link device (MILD) includes a first station (STA) associated with a first link of a wireless network and configured to communicate with a second MLD over the first link using a multi-link target wake time (TWT) process. The MLD also includes a second STA associated with a second link of the wireless network and configured to communicate with the second MLD over the second link using the multi-link TWT process. The MLD further includes one or more processors communicatively coupled to the first and second STAs and configured to control the operations of the first and second STAs to perform the multi-link TWT process.

Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed for group cast with retries (GCR) in a multi-link wireless communications system. In some embodiments, an access point (AP) multi-link device (MLD) can exchange information with a non-AP MLD to establish a GCR-multi-link operation (MLO) agreement corresponding to a group address, wherein the information includes, but is not limited to: a GCR primary link or a GCR primary link set of the AP MLD, an association identifier (AID) that corresponds to the group address. In some embodiments, the AP MLD can transmit a GCR frame subject to the GCR-MLO agreement, where the GCR frame includes a sequence number assigned from sequence number space (SNS)_GCR_MLO defined at a MLD level, and generate a Group Temporal Key (GTK)_GCR_ML at the MLD level, where the GTK_GCR_ML enables encryption and decryption of the GCR frame.

Abstract: A first multilink device (MLD) is configured to communicate with a second MLD using at least two communication links. The first MLD selects a first link of the at least two communication links for communications between the first MLD and the second MLD, detects that the first link is unavailable for communications, switches a radio of the first MLD to a second link of the at least two communication links, transmits an alert to the second MLD regarding the switching from the first one of the at least two communication links to the second one of the at least two communication links and communicates with the second MLD via the second link.

Abstract: Passive and active scanning for extended range wireless networking. The choice between legacy and extended range signaling can depend on one or more factors. For passive scanning, an electronic device may transmit a combination of legacy beacons and extended range beacons for network discovery by receiving electronic devices. For active scanning, an electronic device may transmit extended range probe requests in addition to legacy probe requests to discover all of the access points within its transmission range. Responses to probe requests can use extended range, legacy, single user, and/or multi user protocols.

Abstract: Some embodiments include an apparatus and method for enabling concurrent peer-to-peer (P2P) communications via a scheduled resource unit (RU) allocated by an access point (AP). For example, the AP may use a trigger frame to schedule uplink (UL) multi-user (MU) access for a first station of a plurality of stations by allocating an RU to the first station. Instead of using the allocated RU for UL infrastructure communications with the AP, the first station may utilize the allocated RU for a P2P communications with a second station. In some embodiments the AP facilitates RU utilization for P2P communications between stations. In some embodiments, the first station uses the allocated RU and the AP may be unaware of the P2P communications.

Abstract: An interface circuit in an electronic device may receive, from an access point associated with the electronic device, a frame with management information that enables the electronic device to use a spatial-reuse technique, where the electronic device, through the spatial-reuse technique, adjusts a transmit power and a channel-availability sensing threshold. Moreover, the management information may specify parameters for the spatial-reuse technique. Then, the electronic device may transmit, using the spatial-reuse technique, one or more frames to the access point based on the parameters. Furthermore, the electronic device may transmit, to the access point, feedback information that indicates communication performance during the communication between the electronic device and the access point. For example, the feedback information may include a retry rate and, more generally, communication-performance information. This feedback information may be used by the access point to modify the parameters.

Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed for address changing schemes in a wireless communications system. Some embodiments include an access point (AP) that can establish two or more address profiles with a station (STA), establish a schedule for switching from a first address profile to a second address profile, where the first and second address profiles are of the two or more address profiles, and transmit a first data transmission using the first address profile. Some embodiments include switching from the first address profile to the second address profile based on the schedule, and transmitting a second data transmission using the second address profile. The schedule can be based on a randomized time synchronization function (TSF). The AP can establish a joint algorithm with the STA, and use the joint algorithm determine the first and the second address profiles as well as transition times for the schedule.

Abstract: Some embodiments include utilizing a multilink media access control (MAC) address structure to support multilink devices (MLDs) that can operate concurrently in more than one link such as extremely high throughput (EHT) access points (APs) and EHT stations (STA), where the multilink MAC address structure is compatible with legacy devices. An EHT AP can utilize a multilink basic service set (BSS) identification (BSSID) MAC address to communicate with an EHT STA identified by a multilink MAC address. Values of the multilink BSSID and the multilink MAC address of the EHT STA are independent of which of the multiple links are used in the communication. In addition, to utilizing a multilink BSSID, the EHT AP can also support unique link-specific MAC addresses to concurrently support legacy and MLD stations. The EHT STA can also utilize unique link-specific MAC addresses that can be different than the EHT AP's link-specific MAC addresses.
