    Abstract: Embodiments include a computer readable storage medium, a user equipment, a method and an integrated circuit that perform operations. The operations include receiving a downlink channel information (DCI) format 2_0 from a g-NodeB (gNB) connected to the 5G NR network, wherein the DCI format 2_0 includes channel occupancy time (COT) duration and a gap threshold value, determining if a nonzero power channel state information reference signal (NZP-CSI-RS) resource is valid, wherein the NZP-CSI-RS resource is valid if the NZP-CSI-RS resource is within the COT duration and if a gap between a last symbol of the DCI format 2_0 and a first symbol of the NZP-CSI-RS resource is greater than the gap threshold value.

    Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods for determining a starting point of a measurement gap. For example, the present disclosure is directed to a user equipment (UE) that includes a memory and processor circuitry coupled to the memory. The processor circuitry may be configured to receive an indication of a measurement gap timing advance. The processor circuitry may be further configured to, based on the indication of the measurement gap timing advance, determine a starting point of a measurement gap in a dual connectivity mode that provides dual connectivity with a new radio (NR) and an evolved universal mobile telecommunications system terrestrial radio access (EUTRA). The NR may serve as a master Radio Access Network (RAN) and the EUTRA may serve as a secondary RAN. The processor circuitry may also be configured to perform a signal quality measurement during the measurement gap, wherein the signal quality measurement is performed on a target cell of the NR or EUTRA.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides techniques for activation of a secondary cell by a user equipment (UE) operating in a wireless network. For example, a UE receives a command to activate a secondary cell of the wireless network for wireless communication, and determines whether timing information is known by the UE for the secondary cell. Based on the determination, the UE performs a first secondary cell activation within first time period based on the timing information being known, or performs a second secondary cell activation within a second time period based on the timing information being unknown. After which, the UE wirelessly communicate data over the wireless network using the secondary cell, based on the secondary cell being activated.

    Abstract: An approach is described for a user equipment (UE) that includes radio front end circuitry and processor circuitry. The front end circuitry receives an indication from a network entity node, wherein the indication is indicative of a first fraction for a first radio resource management (RRM) procedure and a second fraction for a second RRM procedure. The processor circuitry performs a first measurement of the first RRM procedure in a first fraction of a measurement period. The processor circuitry further performs a second measurement of the second RRM procedure in a second evaluation period, wherein the second evaluation period is the second fraction of the measurement period.
