Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration message indicating that a control resource set for a downlink control channel is associated with a plurality of demodulation reference signal (DMRS) ports. The UE may determine, based at least in part on the configuration message, that a first set of DMRS resource elements in a first symbol of the control resource set correspond to a first DMRS port of the plurality of DMRS ports and a second set of DMRS resource elements in a second symbol of the control resource set correspond to a second DMRS port of the plurality of DMRS ports. The UE may decode the downlink control channel based at least in part on the determining.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that may enable a user equipment (UE) or base station (e.g., a next-generation NodeB (gNB)) to identify that a waveform to be generated for a scheduled transmission is formed by one or more reference signal symbols and one or more data symbols. The waveform may be contained between a beginning boundary and an ending boundary with a duration equal to a total length of the one or more reference signal symbols and the one or more data symbols. The UE, base station, or both may generate the waveform by inserting a guard internal in the one or more reference signal symbols and the one or more data symbols to enable a receiver to perform a fast Fourier transform (FFT) for each of the one or more reference signal symbols and the one or more data symbols.

Abstract: Techniques for wireless communications are described. A mode for reporting uplink control information may be selected when a first serving cell and a second serving cell are both configured with uplink control resources. The reporting modes may include a mode for transmitting uplink control information over one uplink control resource or over multiple uplink control resources. Multiple sets of uplink control information may be separately generated for different sets of component carriers or different transmission/reception points. After selecting the reporting mode, the multiple sets of uplink control information may be transmitted over one or multiple uplink control resources in accordance with the selected reporting mode. Communication devices may switch between the reporting modes based on obtained information or calculations.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for group or one-shot acknowledgment (ACK) feedback reporting, in which feedback for a number of different downlink transmissions may be provided by a user equipment (UE) to a base station. A base station may trigger a one-shot feedback report that includes less than all of the ACK feedback that is available at the UE to provide in a report. The ACK feedback may include an indication of an ACK or a negative acknowledgement (NACK) along with information related to a data indicator associated with the downlink transmission. In some cases regular ACK feedback reports and one-shot feedback reports may be multiplexed and transmitted by a UE. Further, a last downlink transmission to be included in a one-shot feedback report may be determined based on a receipt time of scheduling information or an ACK feedback timeline.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for handling hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes with discontinuous reception (DRX) operations. A user equipment (UE) may use timers to maintain an ON duration in DRX. The UE may receive, via downlink control information (DCI), an indication of a feedback transmission opportunity (TxOP) for a HARQ process. The UE may activate a timer at the end of the TxOP regardless of whether the UE transmits feedback in the TxOP to ensure that the UE remains active. In some implementations, a base station may provide the UE with multiple opportunities to transmit a feedback message. The UE may reactivate a timer after each feedback TxOP for the same HARQ process or may activate the timer after the first feedback TxOP and may refrain from activating the timer after subsequent feedback TxOPs for the HARQ process.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for multiple downlink control information (DCI) message handling for multiple control resource set (CORESET) groups. In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) may provide separate or joint feedback for data messages received from different CORESET groups. In some examples, the UE may be configured with code block group (CBG)-based transmissions for a component carrier (CC) or a CORESET group in a CC. If implementing a dynamic codebook, the UE may track separate transport block (TB)-based and CBG-based downlink assignment indexes (DAIs) for each CORESET group or may track joint TB-based and CBG-based DAIs across the set of CORESET groups to handle the CBG configuration. Additionally, or alternatively, if implementing a semi-static codebook, the UE may apply skipping rules across the set of CORESET groups or separately for each CORESET group to reduce signaling overhead.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that facilitate feedback for transmissions or retransmissions, such as hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) acknowledgment/negative-acknowledgment (ACK/NACK) feedback reports. A UE may report feedback for regular downlink transmission and semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) transmissions in one or more group-based acknowledgment feedback reports, in which SPS transmissions are associated with a group for providing the feedback report and any retransmissions of the feedback report. Acknowledgment feedback reports may also indicate new data indicator values according to a predetermined value for SPS transmissions in one-shot feedback reports.

For example, a user equipment (UE) may be configured to receive a downlink control message (e.g., an uplink grant) that schedules resources for transmitting repetitions of an uplink channel transmission, where each of the repetitions of the uplink channel transmission may correspond to a single transport block. The UE may determine a plurality of sounding reference signal (SRS) resources based on the downlink control message, and transmit different instances of the uplink channel transmission repetitions according to different SRS resources. The described examples for uplink repetitions may support various techniques for uplink coverage enhancement and diversity gains.

Abstract: One or more aspects of physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) repetition is disclosed. In a particular implementation, a method of wireless communication includes receiving, by a user equipment (UE), downlink control information (DCI) including a physical uplink control channel resource indicator (PRI) field codepoint. The method also includes determining, based on the PRI field codepoint, whether to transmit a PUCCH repetition within a slot position using a single PUCCH resource or transmit multiple PUCCH repetitions within the slot position using multiple PUCCH resources. The method further includes transmitting multiple PUCCH repetitions within the slot position using the multiple PUCCH resources responsive to determining to transmit the multiple PUCCH repetitions within the slot position using the multiple PUCCH resources.
