Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which user equipment (UE) may provide a capability indication to one or multiple transmission reception points (TRPs) that indicates whether the UE is capable of performing Doppler pre-compensation. One or more of the TRPs may transmit configuration information to the UE to configure Doppler pre-compensation for subsequent communications. The UE may indicate that multiple Doppler shifts for a single communication with multiple TRPs is supported, or that a single Doppler shift or no Doppler shift is supported. The UE, when Doppler pre-compensation is supported and configured, may estimate one or more Doppler metrics (e.g., a Doppler shift, a maximum Doppler spread, or both) for one or multiple TRPs based on one or more reference signals from the TRPs, and may transmit one or more uplink communications based on the estimated Doppler metrics.

Abstract: A mobile device can report its capabilities to a network node regarding one or more phase characteristics between Sounding Resource Signal (SRS) resources transmitted by the mobile device under one or more circumstances, enabling the network to configure the mobile device accordingly. Such reporting can enable the network to coherently process multiple SRS resources, effectively increasing the bandwidth of the SRS resources and, ultimately, the accuracy of a position determination for the mobile device. Various techniques are provided for reporting capabilities and determining applicable conditions.

A user equipment (UE) may use cover coding for sounding reference signal (SRS) resources for performing antenna switching. The UE may receive a configuration for a reference signal resource set for transmitting a reference signal for antenna switching, the configuration including an indication of a type of time division cover coding for repetitions of the reference signal and an indication of a type of frequency hopping. The UE may determine a reference signal resource for transmission of the reference signal based on the configuration and the type of frequency hopping. The UE may then transmit a set of repetitions of the reference signal over the determined reference signal resource according to the type of time division cover coding.
