Abstract: An image forming apparatus comprises a reading section, a controller, and an image forming section. The reading section comprises a reading surface and reads a sheet placed on the reading surface. The controller acquires a numerical value indicating a color of a background of the sheet read by the reading section, calculates a correction value on the basis of the numerical value, and applies the correction value to an image to be formed to carry out color correction. The image forming section forms the image to which the color correction is carried out on a sheet having a background in a color identical to the color of the background of the sheet read by the reading section.

Abstract: An image forming system includes: an ID terminal that stores a public key and a secret key and that outputs the public key and the secret key to an external device when the ID terminal authenticates a user; an image forming apparatus that prepares a log data relating to printing; a storing device that stores the log data prepared by the image forming apparatus; an information processing device that authenticates the user by using the ID terminal; and a log viewing device that authenticates the user by using the ID terminal. When the information processing device receives a print instruction for printing a predetermined print data from the authenticated user, the information processing device transmits a print job to which the public key obtained from the ID terminal is added, to the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus receives the print job to which the public key is added.

Abstract: A driving device is used in an image reading apparatus, and reciprocates a scanning unit for reading an image on an original. The driving device comprises a pull member, a driving pulley which transmits driving force to the pull member, a following pulley which applies tension to the pull member and a pulley holder having a pulley axis which holds the following pulley rotatably. Then, the pulley axis has a lock pawl capable of locking an upper end portion of the following pulley and canceling engagement with the following pulley by being tilted toward a side of an axial center by elastic deformation. Furthermore, the lock pawl is arranged at a side of a tension acting direction from the pull member to the following pulley except the farthest position from the driving pulley among positions in a circumferential direction of the pulley axis. It is possible to attach and detach the following pulley easily at a time of maintenance or the like.

The memory also stores device customization data sets, each corresponding to document processing in the multifunction peripheral. Indicia on the display identify each of the customization groups by business type, and the user input receives a selection of a selected customization group. A customizations menu on the display lists available customizations from the selected customization group. A document processing options menu on the display includes document processing options corresponding to a portion of the device customization data sets associated with the selected customization group.
