    Abstract: Systems and methods for filtering a content item based on a determined sleep state or emotional state of a user are described. A plurality of electronic devices, each having a sensor, or set of sensors, within a predetermined distance of an output device, such as a display device, are detected. Biometric data from the sensors is obtained. The biometric data is associated with a sleep state or emotional state for a user associated with each electronic device. The sleep states vary from being awake to deep sleep. A filter accommodating each determined sleep state is selected and applied to the content item prior to it being displayed on the display device. The content item is displayed on the display device with the applied filter. The filtering process is performed at a processing device or server and not by the display device.

    Abstract: Methods and systems are described for providing content, such as a movie, with dialogue including a quotation that was input. For example, using a voice search a viewer may input a quotation famous from a movie to find the original fil and related content. The methods and systems use a quotation engine in a digital device to receive an input including the quotation and access a plurality of content items that include dialogue. The quotation engine identifies a subset of content items that include dialogue similar to the input quotation. The quotation engine accesses metadata of each of the subset of content, ranks the subset based on predetermined criteria and the metadata, and provides the ranked subset of the plurality of content items for consumption. The quotation engine may use a graphical user interface to identify the earliest release, trending content, or the program best known for the quote.

The determinations are used to generate recommendations.     Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for auto-configuring a newly purchased user equipment (UE) device with content consumption material that is associated with a user. These methods and systems are provided by way of receiving, in response to the user having purchased the UE device, purchase information (e.g., a credit card number) and a UE device identifier (e.g., a serial number of a purchased UE device). After receipt of this information, a database is searched to identify a user account that is associated with the purchase information. The user account identifies content consumption material that has been processed by other UE devices to enable the user to consume content. A communication is then transmitted to the UE device that causes the UE device to be configured with the identified content consumption material.

    Abstract: Sound objects are identified within a content item, and location metadata is extracted from the content item for each sound object. A reference layout is generated, relative to a user position, for the sound objects based on the location metadata. A user's gaze is then determined using pupil tracking, body movement data, head orientation data, or other techniques. Using the reference layout, a sound object along a path defined by the gaze of the user is identified, and audio of the identified object is enhanced.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for generating a summary for a piece of content using a thumbnail container. This may be accomplished by a system receiving a thumbnail container related to a piece of content. The system may also receive user information, a device characteristic, and/or content information related to the piece of content and use the received data to select a machine learning model. The selected machine learning model can identify one or more thumbnails of the thumbnail container as a thumbnail of interest to a user. The system can then generate a summary of the piece of content based on the thumbnail identified by the machine learning model and display the generated summary for the user.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are described for sharing and displaying personalized content and media asset recommendations for an OTT account associated with a guest device on a host/public device without having the guest device logging in via the host device into their own OTT account. Host and guest devices are identified based on their OTT profiles. A process to determine interest in displaying on the host device is determined when the guest device launches an OTT application, is on the same local area network, or is within a predetermined distance of the host device. Sharing and displaying restrictions associated with both guest and host device accounts are considered in issuing a session token, based on which the personalized OTT content associated with the guest device is displayed on the host device. Personalized media asset recommendations commonly shared between the guest and host devices are displayed separately on the host device.
