    摘要: A replaceable socket device includes one or more adapters, and an adapting interface. The adapter includes a jack and multiple contacts. The jacks are disposed on a top of the adapter for transmitting power or a network signal to an external device. The contacts are disposed on a bottom of the adapter. The adapter couples to external power via the contacts. The base includes a cable interface and one or more sockets. The cable interface connects to external power via a power cable and the one or more sockets is utilized to fix the one or more adapters. The adapting interface is utilized to connect the socket and the one or more adapters. The structure of the adapting interface corresponds to the contacts, for allowing the one or more adapters to couple to the one or more sockets via the adapting interface.

    摘要: A single prong, multiple signal conducting plug and plug detection circuitry is provided. The plug may be electrically coupled to a stereo headset including a microphone. The plug may include four signal conducting regions arranged in a predetermined order along the length of the prong. Detection circuitry may be operative to determine whether a microphone type of plug (e.g., a four region plug including a microphone region and two audio regions, or a three region plug including microphone region and only one audio region) or a non-microphone type of plug (e.g., stereo plug) is inserted into the jack of an electronic device (e.g., mobile phone). Detection circuitry may also detect user activated functions performed in response to user activation of one or more switches included with the headset. For example, the headset may include a single switch for performing a function with respect to a microphone (e.g., end-call function).

    摘要: The invention teaches how to establish 1 to 1 connection between a first group of n electrical signals to a second group of n electrical signals. A first connector half with a first group of n1 contacts equally spaced around a circle and a second connector half with a second group n2 connectors, also equally spaced around a circle, with n1−1=n2≥n. The angular extent of the individual contacts from the first group is e1, and that from the second group is e2. The angular extent of the gap between individual contacts from the second group is g2. Following relationship must be satisfied: e1 (360/n1−e1).A switch interconnect means for connecting arbitrarily selected n contacts out of a first group of n1 contacts where (n1−1) n to n signals from a first group of n signals. The minimum number of signals required for doing this is n+(n1−n)*n. A single pole switch is connected from each of the n signals from the first group to each of the n arbitrarily selected contacts from the first group of n1 contacts. Each of the remaining n1−n contacts from first group, is connected to one end of a group of n switches. The other end of each switch from this group of switches is connected to each of the n signals from second group.

    摘要: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing and a number of terminals retained in the insulative housing. The insulative housing has a mating surface, a mounting surface, and a slot going through the mounting surface. The terminal received in the slot includes an interference portion retained in the slot, a contacting portion disposed around the mating surface, and a soldering leg extending downwardly beyond the mounting surface. The interference portion has two barbs disposed at two opposite sides thereof, respectively. The terminal includes a blocking portion connecting between the interference portion and the soldering leg. The width of the blocking portion is greater than the width of the interference portion.
