摘要： An embodiment of the invention is directed to a system having a pulley attached to a building. A closed loop of cable is installed around the pulley. The loop is of sufficient length so as to reach, when deployed outside of the building, below the pulley to where emergency personnel gather in an area next to a base of the building (when responding to a disaster situation in the building). A winch around which the loop is to be operatively installed is located in the area next to the base. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

摘要： Rapid deployment of a suspension cable is a supportive system to several high-rise building rescue methods. A cable is pre-attached in a peelable manner to the building side and rigidly attached to the building top. An emergency chase vehicle is dispatched to the building base, attaches to the lower end of the cable and then moves away from the building. The cable peels off the building and suspends from the building top to the ground at approximately a 45 degree angle. A high-rise building rescue method now utilizes this deployed suspension cable.

摘要： A system for mechanically lowering a load from an elevated position to a lower position in a relatively slow and controlled manner using only gravity and frictional forces. The system includes a vertically aligned glide rod, a glide collar that moves longitudinally over the glide rod, two vertically mounted friction rods mounted on opposite sides of the glide rod, a friction collar that moves longitudinally along each friction rod, and a support platform coupled to each friction collar and to the glide collar. The glide rod includes spiral vane along its entire length upon which the glide collar rides when a load is placed on the support platform, allowing the support platform to descend at a safe speed via gravity. The friction rod and collars are used to move the support platform from a stored position located above the elevated loading position to a lower position so that a load may be placed onto the support platform and to stabilize the support platform as it descends from the loading position to the ground.

摘要： A display having mating door sections includes a frame, upper and lower parallel, spaced apart door mounts affixed to the frame, and doors mounted to the frame between the door mounts for securing panels thereto. The door mounts each include openings in vertical alignment with one another for mounting the doors. Each door is mounted to the display frame, between the upper and lower door mounts. Each door has first and second mating door sections joined to one another at a mating juncture. The mating door sections each have a raised rim around a rear portion and upper and lower edges of the sections defining a central recessed region. The recessed region has a plurality of apertures therein, each defining a raised sleeve portion and an opening therein. Each door includes upper and lower pivot pins at about the rear portion at the upper and lower rims respectively. The pivot pins extend transversely from the upper and lower rims and are configured for insertion into the door mount openings for pivotal movement of the doors. The doors are removable from between the upper and lower door mounts. The door sections recessed regions are each configured for mounting an associated panel thereto. Each associated panel resides within the recessed region below the door section raised rims.
