摘要： A heating device includes a first rotating body, a heater, a temperature detection element, and a heater holder. The heater includes a heating element and a substrate on which the heating element is located. The temperature detection element is located on a second surface of the substrate opposite to a first surface of the substrate in a thickness direction of the substrate. The heater holder includes a reservoir portion configured to reserve grease to be supplied to between the first rotating body and the heater in a longitudinal direction of a longer side of the first surface of the substrate. A length of an area in the thickness direction of the reservoir portion overlapping an area where the temperature detection element is located is greater than a length of an area in the thickness direction of the reservoir portion not overlapping the area where the temperature detection element is located.

摘要： An image forming apparatus including an image forming unit, a fixing unit, a reading unit, a reference member, and a controller is described. The image forming unit forms an image and a detection image on a sheet. The detection image is used for detecting geometric characteristics of an image to be formed on a sheet by the image forming unit. The fixing unit fixes the image and the detection image formed by the image forming unit on the sheet. The reading unit reads the detection image on the sheet. The controller adjusts geometric characteristics of the image to be formed on a sheet based on a reading result of the detection image by the reading unit, and controls the reading unit to read the reference member and executes shading correction based on a reading result of the reference member.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit to form an image on a recording material and a fixing unit. The fixing unit fixes the image formed on the recording material to the recording material. 摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a temperature sensor, a conveyance control portion, a driving control portion, an adjustment processing portion, and a stop processing portion. The temperature sensor is provided apart from a contact position between a fixing member and a transferred sheet to which a toner image has been transferred. The conveyance control portion continuously executes conveyance processes of conveying the transferred sheet. The driving control portion controls driving of a heater for heating the fixing member so that a temperature detected by the temperature sensor matches a predetermined temperature. The adjustment processing portion restricts the execution of the conveyance process until an adjustment process of adjusting a formation condition of the transferred sheet is completed. The stop processing portion stops the continuous execution of the conveyance processes when the restriction on the execution of the conveyance process continues beyond a predetermined timing.

The cooling process under the first cooling condition ends in less time than under the second cooling condition.
