    摘要： This invention relates to an assembly comprising a first corrugated sheet and a second generally planar sheet. The corrugations form alternating apices on opposite sides and equidistant from a central major plane in the first sheet, where the apices are connected by angled walls. The second sheet has a central major plane which is generally parallel to the central major plane of the first sheet. The second sheet has complementary regions disposed in overlapping adjacent complementary relation to, and abutting the apices of, the first sheet. The second sheet has undulating regions disposed between the complementary regions, where the undulating regions alternate above and below the central major plane of the second sheet. The undulating regions alternating above the central major plane of the second sheet have a peak wavefront and the undulating regions alternating below the central major plane of the second sheet have a valley wavefront, whereby the wavefronts of the undulating regions are angled with respect to longitudinal axes of the complementary regions to an extent necessary to interlock adjacent first and second sheets.

    摘要： Disclosed is a tower packing for vapor-liquid contact which includes a plurality of sheets of corrugated material, the sheets being arranged generally vertically and parallel to one another with the corrugations of adjacent sheets criss-crossing one another. The sheets are provided with a plurality of holes for effecting both liquid and vapor distribution in said packing, and the holes are arranged on the sheets with the horizontal spacing between adjacent holes being no greater than about five times the horizontal extent of a hole, and in no event greater than about 5 millimeters. The horizontal extent of the holes is no greater than about 2 millimeters.In one form the packing is constructed so that the angle said corrugations strike to the vertical axis of the packing and the fold-to-fold dimension of the corrugations are so selected with respect to the horizontal and vertical extent of a hole and the horizontal and vertical spacing between adjacent holes that a plurlity of said holes fall on a given corrugation fold of a sheet.

In addition, contact bodies in which adjacent sheet corrugations intersect proximate the edges of the contact sheets are provided.

    摘要： The invention relates to a contact body for liquid and gas, primarily for cooling towers and composed of corrugated layers with the corrugations in adjacent layers forming an angle relative each other and extending at an inclined angle towards a lower liquid discharge edge formed with means to counteract collection of liquid resulting from the combined effect of surface tension in the liquid and the upwardly streaming gas. To improve the discharge flow of the liquid two adjacent layers of the contact body are in pairs at their edges cut obliquely so as together to form an inverted V, viewed in the surface extension of said layers. Between each such pair of layers a third layer having a transversely cut lower edge is provided and formed with a prolongation terminating in said transversely cut lower edge and extending for a distance below the layers formed with the obliquely cut edges.
