Abstract:
A novel skateboard made of clear material that utilizes various lighting methods to illuminate the skateboard in various ways. It allows the user to set the lighting of the board by using a remote control so that the user may control the lighting while skateboarding. Further, the deck is designed with a convex shape such that it curves upward in order to account for the weight of its users. The novel skateboard comprises of lights, light controller, remote control, manual switch, and battery pack. The lights may be set to illuminate the board, change colors, or pulsate at different colors and at different rates.
Abstract:
A plurality of pairs of skates, where each skate has a blade or inline wheels and has a light bar for illuminating a skating surface, are wireless and remotely controlled. A remote controller, which includes an input device, determines the desired illumination characteristics of the pairs of skates and transmits wireless signals indicative of the desired illumination characteristics. Light controllers responsive to the wireless signals cause the desired illumination from the light bars of the skates.
Abstract:
An illuminated apparatus for assisting movement is provided that is able to illuminate surface areas upon which one walks, hikes, skis, skates, runs, reads from, signals, examines or studies. The illuminated apparatus for assisting movement may provide both broad and focused illumination. The device may ensure safe footing, solid purchase, and stable load bearing by providing illuminated assistance for foot, ski and skate placement, as well as the placement of singular and multi-pole fixtures used for activities such as hiking, climbing, skiing, skating, running, and walking. The illuminated apparatus for assisting movement may be compact and lightweight.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide a lighting system for a sporting apparatus. In one embodiment, a sporting board apparatus includes an elongated board structure having top surface, a bottom surface, and edge surfaces. The sporting board apparatus further includes a light system having a plurality of light sources coupled to a power supply. In addition, the sporting board apparatus may include a switching mechanism to control the supply of electrical power from the power supply to the light sources, and a select mechanism to control one or more light programs.
Abstract:
An illuminated sport board/skateboard emits light from both the top and bottom of the board to yield a significant quantum of light for optimal visibility and safety. A base panel is provided having an underside surface with at least one transparent segment aligned with an inlay cavity within the base's interior core. A battery powered lighting source containing a plurality of light emitting diodes or an electroluminescent lighting strip is housed within the inlay cavity. A top shell having at least one transparent display is attached to the base panel in a manner that aligns the transparent display with the LED emitted or electroluminescent lighting. Light is emitted from both the top and bottom of the board owing emission through the transparent display of the top shell and the transparent segment of the base panel. The illuminated sport board may be constructed as a skateboard, snowboard, or skis to provide safety from vehicles and other recreational participants.
Abstract:
A mountain climbing stick with an illuminating device, comprising: a shaft and a hollow handle, wherein said handle houses a battery chamber therein; a turnable cap installed at the end of said handle and said cap pivotally connected with said handle by a pivot; a lamp installed on an inside surface of the cap opposite to said shaft; a battery disposed in said handle and said lamp connected with said battery through an electric circuit. The apparatus prevents rain getting into the lamp due to a transparent cover around the lamp, a waterproof button switch is seal connected with the wiring terminal improving waterproofing, a plug socket connected with the lamp, located at the opening of the battery chamber is covered by a waterproof casing. By flipping over the turnable cap, there is illumination. To save power, the circuit is cut when the turnable cap is buckled down and attracted.
Abstract:
A hub cap for a roller skate wheel incorporates an LED illumination system. The illuminated hubcap is configured to slidably extend through apertures of a skate wheel and allow securement of the hub cap on the roller skate wheel. The hub cap may be formed of a rigid or semi-rigid material such as a plastic or the like. The LED illumination system includes a mount situated upon the planar surface of the hub cap so as to be essentially perpendicular with a skating surface when the hub cap is situated on the skate wheel. The hub cap body carries at least one LED so that light is emanated outward into the ambient area adjacent to the hub cap. Circuitry, including a battery and switch are carried on the inner surface of the hub cap body and controls the lighting of the LED (or LEDs). The LEDs may be white, a single color, multiple colors, or any combination thereof.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a marking system comprising lighting devices, for example LEDs (11), that are used on a sport area (1) to indicate demarcations (100) of different games. By activating the associated lighting devices (11), the demarcations (100) of a particular game can selectively be made visible. The marking system may further comprise detection devices that can detect the occurrence of certain game events. Thus photodetectors (12) may for example detect if a ball (2) crosses a demarcation (100). A controller (13) may then activate the lighting devices (11) or separate signaling devices (14, 15) to indicate the detected event. The controller (13) may further communicate wirelessly with persons on the sport area, particularly with the referee to assist his/her decisions.
Abstract:
A multiple tube, multiple lights effects neon or fluorescent lighting system for a skateboard produces a variety of controlled light effects and combinations. A pair of high strength colored protective transparent elongated casings house the light tubes. The casings are removably attached in a highly visible position on the side edges of a skateboard or under the skateboard adjacent to the side edges. The casings are secured by industrial strength mating hook and loop fasteners.
Abstract:
A covering for a skate incorporates a downwardly-directed LED illumination system. The covering is configured to wrap around and/or cover at least the lower portion of the shoe of the skate and may be formed of a flexible material such as cloth, or may be formed of a rigid or semi-rigid material such as a plastic or the like. The LED illumination system includes a first mount situated on a bottom side of the covering so as to be essentially parallel with a skating surface when the covering is situated on the skate and a second mount situated on another bottom side of the covering so as to be essentially parallel with the skating surface when the covering is situated on the skate. Each mount carries a plurality of LEDs so that the LEDs direct emanating light downward onto the skating surface. Circuitry, including a battery, switch and operating components/circuitry/logic, are carried on the inside of the covering and controls the lighting and/or lighting effects of the LEDs. The LEDs may be white, a single color, multiple colors, or any combination thereof.
