Abstract:
An apparatus used in agriculture and more specifically to an apparatus for removing the plastic film cover from raised plant beds in which the edges thereof are tucked under soil placed in overlying relation to the downwardly inclined side edges of the plastic film thereby enabling separation of the plastic film from the plant bed after the plants have matured and the crop harvested from the plants so that the plastic film can be removed and appropriate cultivation and reshaping of the plant beds may be more effectively accomplished with the apparatus of the present invention materially reducing the time and labor required in removing the plastic film for disposal or recycling.
Abstract:
The machine is coupled to a standard tractor, and normally slides over the ground on a skid plate as the vehicle moves forward. A film roll is supported on the machine in a position to be unwound, and the film is progressively deposited on the ground behind the skid plate. Groove-forming structure under the skid plate are disposed centrally inward from the edges of the film roll, and following wheels depress the edges of the film into the groove. Scraper plates then move earth into the grooves, entrapping the edges of the film.
Abstract:
A machine for laying down and taking up strips of artificial turf comprising a self-powered, highly maneuverable carrier having means for transporting, picking up and winding or unwinding a roll of turf strip. Means are provided to shift the roll axially relative to the carrier to precisely lay down each strip in side-by-side relation with a previously laid strip.
Abstract:
A seeding machine and method wherein a generally uniform thin layer of dirt is skimmed from the ground, mixed with a seed such as lawn grass seed, and the mixture then redeposited on the ground in an even layer onto a strip of open mesh fabric, preferably water-proof plastic, the mixture of dirt and seed and the open mesh fabric beneath it then being rolled or otherwise smoothed, the growth from the seed, young sod, for example, being harvested by lifting the open mesh fabric and with it the young sod or similar growth, the lifting preferably being accomplished by rolling the sod and open mesh fabric into transportable rolls, and replanting by depositing and unrolling the sod and open mesh fabric at the new site.
