Abstract: A latch feature for a door is disclosed herein. The latch feature includes an input body that is operable to move linearly between first and second positions relative to the door. The latch feature also includes an output body. The output body is coupled to the input body by a pivot member that is configured to pivot relative to the output body and the input body to allow the output body to move linearly toward the input body from an outboard position to an inboard position as the input body moves from the first position to the second position.

Abstract: A stator for an electric motor of a vehicle utilizes a molded terminal connector. The molded terminal connector also serves as a baffle to distribute cooling fluid around end windings of the stator. The molded terminal connector includes a non-conductive cylindrical portion and frame into which the electrically conductive terminals are molded. The terminals include a winding link that is electrically connected to the end windings and a power link that is electrically connected to the inverter.

Abstract: A vehicle control system may include a mode selector including at least a turn assist mode selectable by an operator of the vehicle to activate a turn assist feature, a controller to employ the turn assist feature by directing application of braking torque to an inside rear wheel of the vehicle during a turn when a trigger condition for implementing the turn assist feature may be detected, and a mu detection module to estimate mu conditions of a surface on which the vehicle may be operating. The controller may further automatically generate a blocking signal to block operation of the turn assist feature responsive to the mu detection module estimating a minimum mu value of the surface that may be less than a threshold mu value.

Abstract: A vehicle includes a radio receiver configured to receive emergency alert messages initiated by an alerting authority and broadcast by an alerting disseminator. The radio receiver is normally inactive when the vehicle is in the dormant state. A user monitor is configured to track a user during a time that the vehicle is in the dormant state to detect whether the user remains in the vehicle or is within a predetermined distance of the vehicle. A controller coupled to the radio receiver and to the user monitor is configured to activate the radio receiver during the dormant state when the user is present. The controller detects the existence of a relevant emergency alert message and initiates an annunciation signal which is generated by the vehicle and perceptible to the user to inform the user that the relevant emergency alert message is available.

The first detected object, the second detected object, the portions of the third detected object, and context data can be input to a partially observable Markov decision process to generate a high confidence detected object.

Abstract: A steer-by-wire system for a land vehicle, having a steering wheel, a feedback actuator, a detection device equipped to detect a driver's intention to enter the vehicle and/or a driver's intention to exit the vehicle, and an electronic control system, which, following detection of the intention to enter the vehicle and/or the intention to exit the vehicle controls the feedback actuator to hold the steering wheel in a predetermined rotational position by generating a holding torque. When an actuating torque which exceeds the holding torque is applied manually to the steering wheel and the steering wheel is rotated out of the predetermined rotational position, the electronic control system continuously approximates a turning angle of the predetermined rotational position to a turning angle of a current rotational position of the steering wheel using a specified time-based adjustment function based on a difference between the actuating torque and the holding torque.
