摘要: In the coil component, the terminal electrode enters an aperture of the element body and is jointed with the bump electrode inside the element body. That is, the terminal electrode is in contact with both the bump electrode and the element body. Therefore, as compared with the case where the bump electrode is exposed to the lower surface of the element body, a joint surface of the terminal electrode is enlarged, and high adhesion of the terminal electrode is realized.

摘要: In a coil component, a main body portion is made of a metal magnetic powder-containing resin, and thus a resin component appears on end surfaces of the main body portion. In addition, since external terminal electrodes are made of a conductive resin, a resin component also appears on the surfaces of the external terminal electrodes. Accordingly, insulating coating layers are integrally covered with high adhesion with the end surfaces of the main body portion and the external terminal electrodes by the insulating coating layers coming into contact with the end surfaces of the main body portion so as to straddle the external terminal electrodes.

In the coil component, a point where the shield layer is thin or a point lacking the shield layer is unlikely to be generated and a functional degradation of the shield layer is effectively suppressed.

摘要: In a coil component, a second magnetic portion disposed in the vicinity of a coil is designed to have a higher proportion of Fe than a metal magnetic powder-containing resin constituting a first magnetic portion. Therefore, a magnetic flux of the coil flows smoothly. Although the second magnetic portion has a relatively lower withstand voltage than the first magnetic portion, since the second magnetic portion is surrounded by the first magnetic portion, it is not exposed on an outer surface of a magnetic body. For this reason, a situation in which the coil and external terminal electrodes are short-circuited with the second magnetic portion therebetween is effectively curbed, and short-circuiting between the coil and the external terminal electrodes can be curbed.

摘要: An upper end portion and a lower end portion of a second magnetic portion of a coil component are further away from a coil than when a third part and a fifth part are not present. For this reason, a magnetic flux is unlikely to be concentrated in the upper end portion and the lower end portion of the second magnetic portion, so that magnetic saturation is unlikely to occur. Therefore, improvement of direct current superimposition characteristics is realized in the coil component.

摘要: A coil component in which a change in thicknesses of the winding part is prevented is provided. According to the coil component, since each of a pair of neighboring resin walls and a seed part between the pair of resin walls are separated by a predetermined distance, a plating part grown on the seed part is easy to grow uniformly between the pair of neighboring resin walls. For this reason, the winding part whose surface is gentle and in which a change in thickness is prevented is obtained by plating growth.
