An apparatus and method are capable of controlling the output of the system utterance upon the occurrence of barge-in utterance and enabling a smooth interactive between a user and the system. Fade processing is applied to lower at least one of volume, a speech rate, or a pitch (voice pitch) of system utterance from a starting time of the barge-in utterance acting as the user interruption utterance during executing the system utterance. Even after the completion of the fade processing, the output state upon completing the fade processing is maintained. In a case where the system utterance level is equal to or less than the predefined threshold during the fade processing, the system utterance is displayed on a display unit. One of stop, continuation, and rephrasing is executed based on an intention of the barge-in utterance and whether an important word is included in in the system utterance.

To provide an information processing device, an information processing method, and a program, each of which is new and improved and is capable of improving the operability for selecting an object image, there is provided an information processing device, including: a determination unit configured to determine whether or not an input operation amount input to an input operation unit has exceeded an operation amount threshold; a control unit configured to set one of a plurality of object images displayed on a display unit as a selection target object image and change the selection target object image in a case where the input operation amount has exceeded the operation amount threshold; and a setting unit configured to set the operation amount threshold to a first value before a first change in the selection target object image is performed and set the operation amount threshold to a second value larger than the first value after the first change in the selection target object image is performed.

There is provided an information processing apparatus according to the present invention including a detection unit for detecting a moving direction and a moving amount of a finger on an operation panel, and a moving control unit for changing the moving amount of an object on a display unit for a finger's unit moving amount depending on the moving direction of the finger which moves the object displayed on the display unit. According to the present invention, the moving amount of the object within a display region changes based on the moving direction of the finger to be operated on the operation panel. In this manner, the object moving amount is corrected depending on the finger moving direction, thereby eliminating the factors for reducing the operability during the object moving operation and improving the operability.

There is provided a display control device including an acquisition unit configured to acquire contact information of contact of an operation body on an operation surface, a display control unit that has a first function of moving a cursor displayed on a display device in accordance with a change amount of a contact position indicated by the contact information acquired by the acquisition unit and a second function of displaying the cursor at a position, on a given display area of the display device, corresponding to the contact position, and a switch unit configured to switch a function to be exerted by the display control unit between the first function and the second function. There is provided an information processing device and an information processing method that enable the intention of a speech of a user to be estimated more accurately. The information processing device includes: a detection unit configured to detect a breakpoint of a speech of a user on the basis of a result of recognition that is to be obtained during the speech of the user; and an estimation unit configured to estimate an intention of the speech of the user on the basis of a result of semantic analysis of a divided speech sentence obtained by dividing a speech sentence at the detected breakpoint of the speech. The present technology can be applied, for example, to a speech dialogue system.
