A wireless communication device having a first SIM and a second SIM and a radio frequency (RF) resource including multiple receive chains and at least one transmit chain may detect, during a connection to a first network associated with the first SIM, a start of a communication activity associated with the second SIM that uses one or more transmit chains and one or more of the receive chains. The wireless communication device may determine whether a carrier frequency of a cell serving the network associated with the first SIM is within a downlink frequency range supported by an unused receive chain of the RF resource. If not, the wireless communication device may identify a neighbor cell of the first network with a carrier frequency within a downlink frequency range supported by an unused receive chain of the RF resource, and attempt to camp the first SIM on that neighbor cell.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may determine, when involved in a multimedia broadcast or multicast service, a set of parameters relating to the state of the wireless communication device. In some aspects, the wireless communication device may determine to decode a signal associated with the multimedia broadcast or multicast service during a measurement gap based at least in part on the set of parameters. In some aspects, the measurement gap may be a gap configured for performing an intra-radio access technology (IRAT) or inter-frequency cell measurement.

Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to cell reselection procedures that can mitigate adjacent channel interference (ACI) related problems in a wireless network. A mobile station (MS) determines a signal level quality for each of a plurality of cells including a serving cell and a plurality of neighbor cells. The MS further determines ACI in each of the plurality of cells in a same public land mobile network (PLMN). In addition, the MS performs a cell reselection procedure based on a respective signal level quality and ACI of the plurality of cells in the same PLMN.

Methods, systems, and devices are described for system acquisition at a mobile device. A scan list including a plurality of entries may be stored at the mobile device. Each entry may include at least one connection parameter for connecting to a cellular system associated with the entry. A connection may be established with a target cellular system at the mobile device. A connection time with the target cellular system may be measured at the mobile device. A time-based entry including at least one connection parameter for the target cellular system may be added to the scan list based at least in part on the measured connection time with the target cellular system.
