    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may start, in a no-listen-before-talk (no-LBT) mode and after a first channel occupancy time (COT), an away period during which no transmissions are to occur in abeam direction used in the first COT. The wireless communication device may perform, during the away period, channel sensing. The wireless communication device may transmit a communication in a second COT after the away period, based at least in part on a result of the channel sensing. Numerous other aspects are described.

    Abstract: A method for wireless communication at a first sidelink user equipment (UE) includes performing, in a shared radio frequency band, a listen-before-talk (LBT) for a channel occupancy time (COT). The method also includes selecting a full-slot sidelink channel waveform hypothesis associated with a first starting symbol, or a half-slot sidelink channel waveform hypothesis associated with a second starting symbol, in accordance with a timing associated with clearing the LBT. The method further includes transmitting, during the COT, sidelink information to a second sidelink UE, a transport block size (TBS) associated with the COT having a fixed number of resources, the fixed number of resources being a same number of resources for full-slot sidelink channel waveform hypothesis and the half-slot sidelink channel waveform hypothesis.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. Some aspects more specifically relate to consistent listen-before-talk (LBT) failure recovery for sidelink communications. In some aspects, a medium access control (MAC) layer may transmit, and a physical (PHY) layer may receive, an indication to perform LBT sensing for one or more resource block sets associated with a consistent LBT failure. The indication to perform LBT sensing may be an indication to perform LBT sensing for sidelink communications without transmitting data. The PHY layer may transmit, and the MAC layer may receive, a result of the LBT sensing. In some aspects, the indication to perform the LBT sensing may be an indication to perform Type 1 LBT sensing or an indication to perform Type 2 LBT sensing, and/or may indicate a quantity of LBT sensing operations to be performed.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A communication device may receive control signaling indicating a beam configuration. The communication device may select a first beam (for example, a sensing beam) for wireless communication based on the beam configuration. The first beam including a first beam gain and a first pointing direction. The communication device may select a second beam (for example, a transmitting beam) based on the beam configuration. The second beam including a second beam gain and a second pointing direction. The communication device may determine (for example, adjust) an energy detection threshold (EDT) associated with the second beam based on the second beam gain in the first pointing direction and the first beam gain in the first pointing direction. The communication device may sense a channel using the second beam and the EDT associated with the second beam.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment may receive a signal in an automatic gain control resource and may receive a physical sidelink feedback channel message based on a gain for reception of the first physical sidelink feedback channel message, where the gain is based on receiving the signal. In some aspects, the first physical sidelink feedback channel message may be one of a set of physical sidelink feedback channel messages time-division multiplexed over a set of contiguous time resources. Additionally, or alternatively, the user equipment may receive a sidelink message after receiving the physical sidelink feedback channel message using a second gain, where the second gain is based on receiving a second signal in a second automatic gain control resource that occurs before the first automatic gain control resource.
