Abstract: The present disclosure provides a communication apparatus and a communication method for multi-generation random access, the communication apparatus comprising: a receiver which, in operation, receives, from a base communication apparatus, an uplink OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) based random access (UORA) parameter and a trigger frame comprising user information fields allocating a plurality of random access resource units (RA-RUs); and circuitry which is configured to, in operation, derive a contention window parameter from the UORA parameter based on an operating bandwidth of the communication apparatus, determine an UORA result to access the plurality of RA-RUs based on the contention window parameter and select one RA-RU from the plurality of RA-RUs according to the determination; and a transmitter which, in operation, transmits an uplink signal on the one RA-RU.

Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for providing multiple structures and methods to enable enhanced random access of access point (AP) controlled resources in a wireless local area network (WLAN) to reduce collisions and increase throughput and efficiency, particularly in high density WLAN environments are provided. The techniques disclosed here feature a communication apparatus including a transceiver and circuitry. The transceiver, in operation, receives signals from and transmits signals to at least one access point in a wireless local area network (WLAN). The circuitry, in operation, demodulates and decodes the signals from the at least one access point, the decoded signals comprising a WLAN transmission including a trigger frame, wherein the circuitry, in operation, prepares a trigger-based WLAN transmission and contends for one or more spatial streams in one of one or more random access resource units (RA-RUs) in response to enhanced uplink OFDMA-based random access (enhanced UORA) being enabled for the communication apparatus.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides communication apparatus and communication method for channel estimation. The communication apparatus comprises circuitry, which, in operation, generates a signal comprising one or more non-legacy long training field (LTF) symbols, each of the one or more non-legacy LTF symbols comprising a plurality of data tones and a plurality of pilot tones, maps a non-legacy LTF sequence to the plurality of data tones and the plurality of pilot tones, and groups the plurality of data tones with nonzero non-legacy LTF sequence values into a first tone group and a second tone group; and a transmitter which, in operation, transmits the generated signal.
