Abstract:
In an image forming system wherein manual duplex printing can be performed by printing an image on one side of a sheet and thereafter printing an image on the other side of the manually-fed printed sheet, a first instruction screen is displayed on a display apparatus at the beginning of manual duplex printing for showing how to set the sheet onto a paper rest of the image forming apparatus for the first half of manual duplex printing. The first instruction screen includes instruction on whether a distinctive side of the sheet should face up or down on the paper rest.
Abstract:
A scanner control system including: a first communication interface which communicates with a first device group including a scanner; a second communication interface which communicates with a second device group including a scanner, the second communication interface being different in specifications from the first communication interface; a storage device which stores scanner information on at least one scanner contained in the second device group; an application unit; a scanner driver unit; and a system main unit which transmits an instruction from the application unit to the scanner driver unit, the system main unit receiving data from the scanner driver unit, and transmitting the data to the application unit.
Abstract:
A process and system are described in which a session is established between a client application and a communication relay program being executed by a processor. In response to a process request from the client application, session information is added to the process request to identify the established session. Next, the process request with the session information is transmitted to an image processing apparatus. Responses received from the image processing apparatus may include the session information to identify to which session each response belongs. The communication relay program removes the session information from the response and forwards the response to the client application through the relevant session.
Abstract:
A printing system includes: a client; at least one printer; a server; and a management device. The client is transmits a permission request to the management device. The management device determines a number of jobs in a print queue, calculates a comparison value by adding one to the number of jobs in the print queue, and compares a predetermined value to the comparison value upon receipt of the permission request. The management device transmits a utilization permission to the client when the comparison value is less than or equal to the predetermined value. The client transmits a job comprising image data to the server when the client receives the utilization permission, and the server generates printing data based on the image data when the server receives the job and transmits the printing data to the at least one printer.
Abstract:
A network system is made up of a plurality of PCs, a printer a server, and the like. The printer selects one PC from among the plurality of PCs as a firmware provider. Accordingly, if there are two or more PCs that can communicate with the printer, only one PC communicates with the server at the same time. Thus, to retrieve firmware from the server, a plurality of PCs can be prevented from communicating with the server at the same time, so that concentration of access to the server can be suppressed. Therefore, an increase in the network traffic can be suppressed.
Abstract:
In an image formation system comprising a data processing device and an image formation device, the data processing device includes: a print data storing unit which stores print data in a portable storage medium; an image data generating unit which generates image data to be displayed by the image formation device in regard to the print data; and an image data storing unit which stores the image data in the portable storage medium while associating the image data with the print data. The image formation device includes an image formation unit which forms an image on a print medium based on print data stored in the portable storage medium while being associated with image data corresponding to the image displayed by a display unit and selected by a selection unit when printing is requested regarding the image.
Abstract:
An image data transmission system includes: a first procedure section includes: a path name acquisition unit that acquires a path name of a file; a directory path name specifying unit that specifies a path name of a directory associated with a character string; a path name conversion unit that converts the character string into the path name of the directory; a converted path name providing unit that provides the converted path name; and an image data providing unit that provides an image data; and a second procedure section comprises: a converted path name acquisition unit that acquires the path name; a data reading unit that reads file data stored in the file; an image data acquisition unit that acquires the image data; and a data processing unit that performs a process of the image data, using the file data and the image data.
