Abstract: A driving apparatus for an electric vehicle includes a housing, a driving motor, and a planetary gear unit. The planetary gear unit includes a ring gear fixed to the housing and a plurality of planetary gears positioned radially inward from the ring gear. The ring gear includes a ring gear main body configured as a ring-shaped flat plate extending in a radial direction, and a ring gear connection portion extending from an outer peripheral surface of the ring gear main body in an axial direction and contacting the plurality of planetary gears.
