摘要: An apparatus (100) and method is provided that identifies and tracks a relative location and movement of an object in a three-dimensional space. The sensing unit includes a processor (122) for communicating a coordinate information of the object within the three-dimensional space. The method includes emitting a pulse from a first transducer (101), estimating a time of flight from a reflection signal received by a second transducer (102), and determining a location and relative movement of the object from the time of flight measurements. The sensing unit can provide touchless control via touchless finger depression actions, finger slide actions, finger release actions, and finger hold actions.

摘要: One or more disposable devices suitable for use in a surgical field of an operating room are disclosed. One device comprises a sensor (101) communicatively coupled to the wand (102) to register points of interest on a first or second bone of the muscular-skeletal system and transmits location data related to the points of interest to the sensor (101) to assess orthopedic alignment with the points of interest. A display (150) having a GUI (152) are coupled to the devices for providing device and surgical information in real-time. A communication device (104) includes display (150) and a digital signal processor (154). A transducer (142) receives vocal commands (140) for generating an action (146) that produces an operative change in the devices or display (150). The DSP (154) includes voice recognition software (144) for identifying words or phrases to produce an action (146) that are received by the transducer (142).

摘要: A navigation system is provided to direct control of a user interface work-flow during a procedure. Such a need can arise in sterile environments were touchless interaction is preferable over physical contact. The system includes a wand and receiver for controlling a pagination and parameter entry of the work-flow, a processor to compare wand movement profiles, a clock for limiting a time window between the comparison, and a controller for activating a user interface control in the workflow when a wand movement profile or gesture is recognized. The comparison can be based on the wand's direction, orientation and movement to and from various locations. Other embodiments are disclosed.

The method can include detecting (162) a movement of a finger in a touchless sensing field, identifying (164) an activation cue in response to the finger movement, and activating (166) a touchless control of an object in response the activation cue. The method can include focusing the touchless sensing field (210) to produce a touchless projection space (220). An activation cue can be a positioning of a finger (302) within a bounded region (304) of the touchless projection space for a pre-determined amount of time. In one arrangement, cursor (124) navigation and control can be provided in accordance with touchless finger movements.

The processor can generate a voice activity level (622) and suppress an echo, spoken voice, and media content in the electronic internal signal, and mix an electronic ambient signal with an electronic internal signal in a ratio dependent on the voice activity level and a background noise level to produce a mixed signal (323) that is delivered to the ear canal (131).

摘要: A method of calibration and a calibration machine is provided for calibrating sensory controls of an ultrasonic navigation system. It can include an enclosure for containing a paired device group to minimize air flow therein, one or more holder mechanisms for rigidly mounting the paired devices at specific and adjustable orientations, and a rail system for holding the one or more holder mechanisms at specific locations within the enclosure. A computer communicatively coupled to the calibration machine can precisely adjust actuators for configuring the distances and orientations of the holding mechanisms and control a transmission and reception of the paired devices for calibrating the paired devices.

The system includes a load sensor for converting an applied pressure associated with a force load on an anatomical joint, and an ultrasonic device for creating a low-power short-range ultrasonic sensing field within proximity of the load sensing unit for assessing alignment. The system can adjust a strength and range of the ultrasonic sensing field according to position. It can report audible and visual information associated with the force load and alignment. 摘要: A portable measurement system is provided including a probe, a user interface control and a receiver. The probe includes a plurality of ultrasonic transducers that emit ultrasonic waveforms for creating a three-dimensional sensing space. The user interface control captures a location and position of the probe in the three-dimensional sensing space. The receiver includes a plurality of microphones to capture the ultrasonic waveforms transmitted from the probe to produce captured ultrasonic waveforms and a digital signal processor that digitally samples the captured ultrasonic waveforms and tracks a relative location and movement of the probe with respect to the receiver in the three-dimensional ultrasonic sensing space from time of flight waveform analysis. Embodiments are demonstrated with respect to hip replacement surgery, but other embodiments are contemplated.
