Abstract:
A method and a system for analyzing a physical characteristic of a film sample are described herein. The system includes a material holder system configured to hold the film sample; and a tear analysis device configured to tear the film sample and measure a characteristic of the tear. The movable system is configured to move the film sample in the material holder system to the tear analysis device.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides embodiments of a composition comprising post-consumer recycled resin comprising: at least 50 weight percent polyolefin, having an initial limonene level of at least 5 ppm; virgin ethylene-based polymer; and at least one odor-active zeolite, wherein the odor-active zeolite has an FAU crystal structure, an MFI crystal structure, and/or beta crystal structure and a Si/Al molar ratio from 1 to 1000, wherein the composition has a reduced limonene level of less than 3 ppm.
Abstract:
The present invention provides polyethylene-based compositions suitable for packaging applications, films, and articles. In one aspect, a polyethylene-based composition suitable for packaging applications comprises (a) at least 97% by weight, based on the total weight of the polyethylene-based composition, of a polyethylene composition comprising: (i) from 25 to 37 percent by weight of a first polyethylene fraction having a density in the range of 0.935 to 0.947 g/cm3 and a melt index (I2) of less than 0.1 g/10 minutes; and (ii) from 63 to 75 percent by weight of a second polyethylene fraction; and (b) 90 to 540 ppm, based on the total weight of the polyethylene-based composition of a calcium salt of 1,2-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid; wherein the polyethylene composition has less than 0.10 branches per 1,000 carbon atoms when measured using 13C NMR, wherein the density of the polyethylene-based composition N is at least 0.965 g/cm3, and wherein the melt index (I2) of the polyethylene-based composition is 0.5 to 10 g/10 minutes.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a barrier film comprising at least two substrates each comprising a first surface and a second surface; where the first surface and the second surface are opposedly disposed to each other; the second surfaces of each substrates being in direct contact with each other; where the second surfaces do not contact a barrier coating; and a barrier coating comprising alternating layers of cationic material and anionic material; where the barrier coating is adhesively bonded with the first surfaces of each substrate.
