    摘要: A drive circuit drives a plurality of light emitting diodes (LED) in an LED array chip. The drive circuit includes a row of drive transistors that supply drive currents to corresponding LEDs, a control circuit that produces a control voltage for driving the drive devices, and a supply voltage electrode that extends along the row. The control circuit has a reference current transistor through which a predetermined reference current flows in accordance with a control voltage applied to the reference current transistor. The control voltage is also supplied to the individual drive devices to cause the drive currents to flow through the corresponding LEDs in reference to the reference current. The supply voltage electrode supplies a supply voltage to each of the drive transistors such that each drive transistor receives its supply voltage from a nearest location on the supply voltage electrode. The reference transistor receives its supply voltage from a substantially mid point of the supply voltage electrode. Two or more reference current transistor may be used in which case they are disposed in the row such that the devices are arranged in a mirror like image with respect to a middle of the row. The sum of the currents flowing through the reference current generating devices serves as the reference current.

    摘要: In a first aspect of the invention, a driven element is driven by a static driving element coupled in series with a switching element. The static driving element sets the driving current value. In a second aspect, a plurality of driven elements are driven by respective driving elements, which in turn are driven by respective pre-stage circuits, using a control voltage supplied by a single control-voltage generating circuit. Resistors inserted between the driving elements and pre-stage circuits limit transient current flow to a value within the output capability of the control-voltage generating circuit. In a third aspect, the pre-stage circuits have constant-current output characteristics, and the control-voltage generating circuit is designed to provide the necessary transient current, even when all driven elements are driven simultaneously.

    摘要: A light-emitting element array has a plurality of three-terminal light-emitting elements such as light-emitting thyristors with anode, cathode, and gate terminals. The anode terminal of each light-emitting element is connected to a driving circuit. The cathode terminal is grounded. The gate terminals of at least some of the three-terminal light-emitting elements are driven from a common buffer, and within this group of three-terminal light-emitting elements, the anode terminals are driven individually. This enables the array of three-terminal light-emitting elements to be driven in essentially the same way as an array of two-terminal light-emitting elements, but without the need for large power transistors between the cathode terminals and ground.

    摘要: A driver apparatus drives light emitting elements connected to a common terminal. A clock driver outputs first and second pulses to first and second output terminals, respectively, alternately. A differentiating circuit includes an inductor and a resistor, and differentiates the first and second pulses to produce first and second clocks, respectively. A data driver circuit outputs a data signal to the common terminal in response to an ON/OFF command signal. A scanning circuit starts to operate in response to a starting signal such that the cascaded sub scanning stages turn on in sequence one at a time. A sub scanning stage turns on in response to the second clock, outputting a drive signal to a corresponding one of the light emitting elements. The light emitting elements emit light only when the drive signal and the ON/OFF command signal are fed to the light emitting elements.
