Abstract: Techniques for disambiguating which profile, of multiple profiles, is to be used to respond to a user input are described. A device located in a communal space (e.g., a hotel room or suite of rooms, conference room, hospital room, etc.) may be associated with a device profile and a user profile of a user presently occupying the communal space. When the user inputs a command to the device (either by text or speech), a system associated with the device determines the profiles (e.g., a device profile and a user profile) associated with the device. The system determines one or more policies associated with the device. The one or more policies may correspond to rules for disambiguating which profile to use to execute with respect to the user input. Using the one or more policies, the system determines which profile is to be used, and causes a speechlet component to execute using information specific to the determined profile.

Abstract: Systems and methods for pairing-less device connectivity are disclosed. For example, a group of primary devices are authorized to establish a non-bonded connection with a given secondary device. When the secondary device is in proximity of at least one of the group of primary devices, that primary device may receive a wireless beacon from the secondary device. The system may identify the primary device as an authorized device, perform user presence confirmation processes, and send a command to the primary device to establish the non-bonded connection. Encryption using a network layer or a presentation layer and an application layer of a computer network, instead of a link layer, is utilized for secure data transmission over the non-bonded connection.

Abstract: Systems and methods for temporarily associating user accounts with voice-enabled devices are disclosed. A voice-enabled device, which may be associated with a default account, may be situated in an environment, such as a hotel room. A user may desire to utilize the voice-enabled device to perform one or more actions. In examples, some or all of the actions may require the use of a system resource not available to the default account. In these examples, the user may provide contact information to be used to send a message to personal device of the user to acquire user account information. Upon receipt of such information, the user account may be temporarily associated with the voice-enabled device, and may be dissociated from the voice-enabled device upon the lapse of a period of time and/or occurrence of a dissociation event.
