The electronic amplification module includes, e.g., a driver amplifier or a transimpedance amplifier, and configured to process electrical signals sent to or from the photonic module. The converter module converts signals between a first interface (for communicating with the first chiplet) and a second interface (for communicating with the electronic amplification module).

摘要: An apparatus includes a pluggable optical module having a fiber connector, an optical module, a fiber harness, and an edge connector. The fiber connector optically couples to an optical fiber cable. The optical module includes a photonic integrated circuit having a first surface at which optical couplers are provided. The fiber harness optically couples the fiber connector and the first surface, and includes optical fibers and an optical fiber connector that optically couples the optical fibers to the first surface. The optical fiber connector includes a 2D arrangement of fiber ports that in combination with the optical couplers enable light signals to be transmitted between the photonic integrated circuit and the optical fibers. The edge connector includes conductive pads that electrically couple to conductive pads of a receptacle when the edge connector is mated with the receptacle. The conductive pads of the edge connector are electrically coupled to the optical module.

The optical interconnect module is configured to receive first optical signals from a first optical link, convert the first optical signals to first electrical signals, and transmit the first electrical signals to the first data processing module.
