Abstract:
The circuit monitors the superconducting state of a superconducting magnet winding. The winding is subdivided into two serially connected sub-windings with an intermediate tap point. The end of the sub-windings are connected via an electrically conducting parallel branch. This parallel branch consists of two serially connected sub-branches, each containing at least one ohmic resistor. There is a junction between the sub-branches. This junction and the tap point of the magnet winding are the diagonal points of a bridge circuit, to which is connected an electronic device for evaluating and processing the voltage signal to be measured. To account for the ohmic resistances associated with the sub-windings of the superconducting magnet winding and thereby increasing the sensitivity of the circuit, each sub-branch of parallel branch contains at least one capacitor.
Abstract:
A cooling arrangement for a superconducting field winding of an electric machine, especially a turbo-generator, has a coolant space which contains a cryogenic coolant fed into it via a feed line, for cooling the field winding, and a coolant supply chamber which contains liquid coolant for cooling a damper shield. So that no separate feed and discharge lines are required for cooling the damper shield independently of the cooling of the field winding, the coolant supply chamber is connected directly to the coolant feed line via a radial connecting line, and the flow cross sections of the connecting line and of the section of the coolant feed line between the connecting head and the connecting point of the connecting line are made large.
Abstract:
A cooling device for a superconducting field winding of an electric machine, especially a turbo-generator, contains an exhaust gas line connected to a coolant space for cooling an end piece at the end face of a torque transmitting rotor body part as well as a coolant line extending along a damper shield arranged around the field winding. In order to utilize the liquid coolant in a particularly economical and simple manner, the coolant line of the damper shield is a section of the coolant exhaust gas line, and this section is arranged, as seen in the flow direction of the coolant exhaust gas, ahead of the line section of the torque transmitting end piece.
Abstract:
The cooling arrangement of the superconducting field winding of a turbo-generator contains a coolant chamber, in which a vaporous and a liquid phase of a coolant are contained, and to the vapor space of which a coolant discharge line with a high flow resistance is connected. To prevent excessive over-pressure in the coolant chamber in the event of a quench, a buffer tank is also connected to the vapor space via a connecting path having a relatively low flow resistance.
