    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Sidelink UEs may be configured with a synchronization reference signal that may be used by the UEs to synchronize time and frequency resources. A first and second UE may perform a beam sweeping procedure to identify transmit and receive beams to use for communications between the UEs. A synchronization reference signal procedure may be initiated and the first UE may receive a sidelink synchronization reference signal from the second UE using the established receive beam. The UEs may align time and frequency resources for communications between the UEs and the UEs may communicate via the sidelink channel based on the time synchronization, frequency synchronization, or both, determined using the sidelink synchronization signal. In some cases, a sidelink UE may receive multiple synchronization reference signals from multiple sidelink UEs simultaneously, where each synchronization reference signal may include a UE identifier.

    Abstract: Techniques, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be in communication with a first and second transmitting device (e.g., by sidelink communication links). The UE may receive, from the first transmitting device, a first reference signal on a first set of resources. The UE may additionally receive, from the second transmitting device, a second reference signal on a second set of resources that overlap in the time domain with the first set of resources. In some cases, the first and second set of resources may additionally overlap in the frequency domain. The UE may determine synchronization information for time tracking or frequency tracking of sidelink communications with the first and second transmitting devices based on the first and second reference signals. The UE may communicate with the first and second transmitting devices based on the synchronization information for time tracking or frequency tracking.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to communication systems, and more particularly, to interpreting a timing advance (TA) command for members of a timing advance group (TAG), such as different uplink component carriers and/or different bandwidth parts, having different numerologies, such as different subarrier spacing (SCS). A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station (BS), a TA command. The UE interprets the TA command differently for different members of a same TAG, associated with different numerologies. The UE applies a timing adjustment when transmitting an uplink transmission to the BS based, at least in part, on the interpretation.

    Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to determining and/or scheduling resources for devices in view of cross-channel interference measured between the devices. In an aspect, a first user equipment (UE) can determine a signal measurement of a signal transmitted by a second UE in a first channel, determine, based at least in part on the signal measurement, a cross-channel interference parameter of interference experienced by the first UE, and transmit, to a serving base station that serves the first UE, an indication of the cross-channel interference parameter. In another aspect, a base station can determine a cross-channel interference parameter of interference experienced by a first UE in at least a first channel, based on a signal transmitted by a second UE in a second channel, and can schedule communications for the first UE based at least in part on the cross-channel interference parameter.

A user equipment (UE) may receive signaling indicating a configuration for communicating to the UE a random access response of a random access procedure. The configuration may indicate a first quantity of instances of control information associated with the random access response in a set of slots and a portion of the time window configured for the first quantity of instances. The UE may monitor the set of slots for instances of the control information and receive a second quantity of instances of the control information for the UE in a first subset of slots of the set of slots. The second quantity of instances may be less than the first quantity of instances. The UE may combine the instances of the control information from the first subset of slots and decode the random access response based on combining the instances.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices, and systems for beam group reporting for positioning in new radio (NR) wireless communications systems. In some wireless communications systems, multiple PRS resources, e.g., a beam group, received by a user equipment (UE) from the same network entity may be used to produce a combined Time of Arrival (TOA) measurement for the reference or target to derive an Reference Signal Time Difference (RSTD) estimate. The UE provides to a network entity an indication of the PRS resources in the beam group, which may be specifically or generally identified. Additionally, parameters associated with the beam group are provided, such as a relative quality of the TOA measurement for each PRS resource in the subset, a spread of the TOA measurements in the subset, a relative signal strength of each PRS resource in the subset, or a spread of the signal strength in the subset.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus relating to precoding reference signals for uplink transmissions with downlink interference information. In certain aspects, a method, performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station, one or more signals for use in estimating channel quality for a downlink between the base station and the UE. The method also includes determining a first frequency resource and a second frequency resource from a frequency band allocated for transmitting a reference signal (RS). The method further includes computing a first downlink channel quality estimate for the first frequency resource using the one or more signals, transmitting a first RS precoded using the first downlink channel quality estimate, computing a second downlink channel quality estimate for the second frequency resource using the one or more signals and transmitting a second RS precoded using the second downlink channel quality estimate.

In aspects, a first node configures first and second reference signal resource sets for transmission of first and second sets of reference signals, wherein the first and second reference signal resource sets occur on first and second subbands of, and/or during first and second time intervals on, the MIMO channel, wherein each reference signal resource in the first and second reference signal resource sets utilize at least first and second MIMO precoders, and transmits, to a second node over the MIMO channel, the first and second sets of reference signals, wherein the first node transmits the first and second sets of reference signals to assist the second node to perform a positioning measurement based on joint processing of the first and second sets of reference signals.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first UE may transmit a sidelink request to a second UE. The sidelink request may indicate a set or a segment of the data resources. A second UE may transmit a positive sidelink response indicating that the set or the segment of resources is available for reservation, or may refrain from transmitting a positive sidelink response if the set or the segment of the data resources is unavailable for reservation. A third UE may transmit a negative sidelink response indicating that the set or the segment of the data resources is unavailable for reservation, or may refrain from transmitting a negative sidelink response if the set or the segment of the data resources is available for reservation. If the requested data resources are available, then the first UE may transmit a sidelink confirmation reserving the requested data resources.
