Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for selecting a time division duplexing (TDD) frame structure for communicating with a user equipment (UE) via a shared radio frequency spectrum in which a listen before talk (LBT) procedure is performed prior to transmitting. A frame based equipment (FBE) frame starting location for FBE frames is determined where the FBE frame starting location is offset from a starting location of the TDD frame structure and spans successive TDD frames. In some cases, the TDD frame structure may be configured such that the UE does not need to perform an LBT procedure, and thus the LBT process may be transparent to the UE, allowing UEs that are not specially configured to operate using an LBT procedure to use the shared radio frequency spectrum.

Abstract: Configurations of system information blocks providing cell access information supporting wideband coverage enhancement in wireless communication networks are disclosed. Embodiments encode and transmit information elements for both a legacy system information block and a wideband coverage enhancement system information block in a multiple subframe discovery reference signal configuration. For example, embodiments may utilize a two subframe CR-DRS configuration in which a WCE SIB-MF1 message payload is encoded and transmitted independently with respect to a legacy SIB-MF1 message payload. Additionally, or alternatively, embodiment may utilize a two subframe CR-DRS configuration in which both a legacy SIB-MF1 message payload and a WCE SIB-MF1 message payload share the same DRS subframe payload by jointly encoding the legacy SIB-MF1 and WCE SIB-MF1 messages.

Abstract: Indication of transmission priority class is disclosed for sharing a base station's maximum channel occupancy time (MCOT) for use in autonomous uplink (AUL). Aspects of the disclosure provide for implicitly sharing the MCOT by providing an indication of transmission opportunity (TxOP) length. A serving base station sends an indication of a current TxOP length in control signals to a user equipment (UE). The UE may then infer a set of potential transmission priorities used by the serving base station according to the TxOP length, as TxOP length may relate to the MCOT, which itself may be associated with a particular transmission priority class. The UE may then, conservatively, select the highest transmission priority of the set of potential transmission priorities for autonomously transmitting any uplink data having at least the selected highest transmission priority within configured AUL resource of the current TxOP.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a discovery reference signal from a base station on an anchor channel. The UE may perform a first random or pseudorandom frequency hopping procedure to identify a plurality of downlink carriers for a first time period. The UE may perform a second random or pseudorandom frequency hopping procedure within the plurality of downlink carriers to select one of the plurality of downlink carriers as the uplink channel for a second time period. The UE may then transmit an uplink communication during the second time period on the selected uplink channel. In some examples, the uplink communication may be transmitted based at least in part on time division multiplexing (TDM) information.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for multiplexing of uplink channels in a shared radio frequency spectrum band. Techniques may provide for segmenting uplink resources into multiple different sets of uplink resources, each set of uplink resources having one or more associated uplink control channel resources. A base station or user equipment (UE) may select a set of uplink resources from the multiple sets of uplink resources for uplink transmissions from the UE based on a location of the uplink control channel resources of the set of uplink resources relative to other allocated uplink resources of the UE. Uplink control information (UCI) may be multiplexed with one or more uplink shared channel transmissions of a UE for transmission to a base station in certain circumstances.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may identify synchronization signals and a set of frequency hopping channels for communications as part of a discovery reference signal (DRS) in an anchor channel. The set of frequency hopping channels may include a sequence to indicate an order for utilizing each hopping channel of the set of hopping channels. In some cases, the hopping sequence may be a pseudo random sequence. Additionally, the hopping sequence may defined such that a non-repeating hopping sequence or pattern which visits all hopping frequencies before revisiting the same frequency is utilized. As such, each hopping channel may be utilized an equal number of times within a period of time and have an approximately equal occupancy time to the other hopping channels.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless systems utilizing shared radio frequency spectrum bands, base stations may operate in different listen before talk (LBT) modes. For example, a base station may operate in an LBT enabled mode or a non-LBT enabled mode. A UE may perform system acquisition with the base station based on receiving acquisition signals (e.g., synchronization signals and physical broadcast channel (PBCH) signals) from the base station. These acquisition signals may depend on the LBT mode of the base station. For example, the frame timing and number of subframes for the acquisition signals may be based on the LBT mode of the base station. In some cases, a base station may adaptively switch LBT modes, and the UE may re-synchronize with the base station based on an LBT configuration period or a paging message from the base station.
