Abstract: Methods, systems, and non-transitory computer readable storage media are disclosed for generating enriched light sources by utilizing surface-centric representations of three-dimensional surfaces. Specifically, the disclosed system utilizes a surface-centric re-parameterization that combines geometric and algebraic components of a sphere to model different light source types in a continuous range of lighting configurations. The disclosed systems utilize a set of intuitive parameters to determine a shape and emission parameters for generating an enriched light source. Additionally, the disclosed system provides a set of interactive light source controls to modify a position, orientation, shape, emittance, and lighting attenuation over distance of a light source within a three-dimensional environment. The disclosed system determines the light source controls based on sets of three-dimensional interaction primitives to control one or more parameters of the light source. The disclosed system provides the light source controls for consistently modifying various light source types within the three-dimensional environment.

Abstract: An embodiment may involve: (i) obtaining a set of data records that include respective pluralities of tuples characterizing operation of communication sessions in a network and that identify hardware or software components related to the network that were involved in the communication sessions, (ii) determining degrees to which signatures in the pluralities of tuples are associated with communication problems in the network; (iii) identifying, from the degrees, a subset of the signatures most associated with the communication problems; (iv) grouping specific pairs from the subset of the signatures into equivalence classes based on co-occurrence of signatures of the specific pairs within the data records; (v) generating and pruning a dependency graph between the equivalence classes; (vi) from the equivalence classes remaining in the dependency graph, selecting a subset of the hardware or software components related to the network that are candidates for involvement with the communication problems.

Abstract: The present invention proposes a method and associated device for inserting tuples into a watermarked database without having to remove the watermarking from all or a part of the database before inserting each tuple. To achieve this, the invention consists of storing, in watermarking metadata, the type of group or class wherein the tuples of the database have been distributed during the watermarking of the database. For each type of group or class, a rule defining a modification of the value of at least one property on which the watermarking is carried is also stored in the watermarking metadata, depending on an insertion force parameter. Each tuple to be inserted is watermarked by applying the modification rule according to the group to which the tuple belongs. Due to the rule used, the insertion of the watermarked tuple does not modify the type of group it belongs to.

Abstract: An antenna arrangement that is designed to match, or approach based on a cost function, a specification includes a list of a plurality of predefined frequencies and, possibly a list of predefined bandwidths at a matching level. The antenna arrangement is designed using a plurality of predefined elements comprising a primary conductive element defined as a main trunk and a combination of secondary conductive elements selected from trunks, branches or leaves. The primary conductive element and the secondary conductive elements are defined by design parameters that comprise a susceptance that is a function of a geometry, a form factor, a main dimension, an orientation of the secondary conductive elements relative to the primary conductive element and a position of the secondary conductive elements on the primary conductive element. The antenna arrangement may be further defined to match a predefined form factor.

Abstract: A method for producing an expanded rigid foam with sealed pores includes at least the following steps: a) a mixture is prepared containing at least: an anionic polymer suited for ionotropic gelation; a foaming agent; a source of multivalent cations, said multivalent cations not being released in the mixture a); and a solvent; b) the mixture is stirred so as to obtain a foam; c) a compound capable of releasing protons in a sufficient amount to release said multivalent cations is added to the foam such that the anionic polymer gels ionotropically; d) the foam is dried. A foam is obtained in this manner and an object (for example a package, a heat-insulating or flame-retardant material) is made from this foam.

Abstract: A method of determining a performance metric for a selection of a first user and a second user among a set of candidate users for attribution to a sub-band in a multiple access communications system based on Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA), is provided wherein the first user (k1) and the second user (k2) are selected as the pair of candidate users corresponding to an extremum of the ratio between a first term reflecting the total throughput achievable by any pair of the candidate users assigned to the sub-band (s) under consideration, and a second term reflecting the known throughput achieved by that same pair of candidate users over a predetermined preceding period. Implementations include a method of determining a performance metric is presented for attributing users to one or more of a plurality of sub-bands in a multiple access communications system, wherein in an initial assignment phase for a specific sub-band, a first user is selected for that band on the basis of one or more criteria such as user priority. Then a second sub-band user maximizing or minimizing the performance metric.
