    Abstract: A portable test compartment allows for on-site pressure testing of a workpiece at the site where the workpiece is utilized, instead of having to haul the workpiece to an off-site testing location. A test vehicle carries the elongated test compartment, and travels to the on-site location to test the workpiece. The vehicle has a lift assembly that pivotally connects the vehicle and the compartment. The lift assembly moves the compartment from a storage position alongside the vehicle to an operational position alongside the ground. The compartment has an interior portion that receives the workpiece. Inside the compartment, a safety blanket is fastened to the bottom of the compartment. The safety blanket envelops the workpiece by folding several portions of the blanket around the workpiece.

    Abstract: A fluid cylinder for a reciprocating pump includes a body having inlet, outlet, and plunger bores. The inlet and outlet bores extend coaxially along a fluid passage axis. The plunger bore extends along a plunger bore axis that extends at an angle relative to the fluid passage axis. The body includes a crossbore at the intersection of the fluid passage axis and the plunger bore axis. The crossbore intersects the inlet, outlet, and plunger bores at respective inlet, outlet, and plunger bore ends. The inlet bore end and outlet bore ends are connected to the plunger bore end at respective first and second corners of the crossbore. The first corner includes a first linear bridge segment connected to the inlet and plunger bore ends by corresponding curved segments. A location at which the component is positioned relative to one or more other components is identified. The useful remaining operational life of the component is predicted based on at least an operational parameter specific to the location, and the operational history of the component or one or more components equivalent thereto. According to another aspect, a model representing at least a portion of a proposed system associated with a wellhead is generated, the model comprising a plurality of objects, each of which has a proposed location and represents an existing component. The useful remaining operational life for each object is predicted based on an operational parameter at the corresponding proposed location, and data associated with the respective operational history of the existing component.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides a valve seat having cladded surfaces of high hardness in order to improve the service life of valve seats. The cladded surfaces may include various materials of favorable mechanical properties for mitigating failure mechanisms known for common valve seats (e.g., having a common base metal throughout). In one example, the cladded surfaces are created using an additive manufacturing process, such as laser metal deposition. The cladded surfaces offer advantages including metallurgical bonding, localized low heat input at the laser focus (thus enabling accurate control of temperature and mitigating undesirable heat treatment effects), ductility in middle layers for increasing impact resistance, variable cladding thickness (optionally exceeding 1 mm), increased hardness by material and fusing temperature selections, corrosion resistance, modification of mechanical properties of the same selected material, and allowing for sensor embedment.

    Abstract: According to one aspect, a manifold defines an internal region and a first inside surface. A fluid liner is permanently bonded to the first inside surface, and dynamically responds to pressure fluctuations within the internal region during fluid flow therethrough while the permanent bond is maintained. According to another aspect, an end cap is connected to the elongated member and defines a second inside surface. The fluid liner is engaged with each of first and second inside surfaces, and defines a third inside surface. A first thickness of the fluid liner is defined between the first and third inside surfaces, a second thickness of the fluid liner is defined between the second and third inside surfaces, and the second thickness is greater than the first thickness. According to another aspect, a plug opening is formed through the fluid liner, and a liner plug extends within the plug opening.
