Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station on multiple component carriers (CCs) in a carrier aggregation (CA) configuration. The base station may transmit an indication to the UE that identifies a new power mode (e.g., a power mode adjustment) that the UE is to implement. The power mode may identify communication parameters that the UE is to adjust. The UE may determine a delay for applying the new power mode on the CCs. The delay may provide the UE time to activate or deactivate components or elements based on the new power mode. In some examples, the UE may determine the delay based on one or more selected CCs and then apply the delay across the CCs. The UE may implement the power mode on one or more (or all) of the CCs following the delay.

Abstract: Device and techniques for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may switch from a first bandwidth part (BWP) configuration to a second BWP configuration based on a trigger for transitioning from a first activity state to a second activity state with respect to a cell group. The trigger may be an expiration of a timer at the UE, or the UE may receive control signaling indicating the transition. The second BWP configuration may be based on a mode configured at the UE associated with the second activity state. The configured mode may indicate one or more measurements the UE is to perform while in the second activity state. In some examples, the BWP configuration may include configured BWPs based on the indicated measurements of the configured mode.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to communicating a serving cell dormancy indication field and acknowledgement. In some implementations, a wireless communication device (e.g., user equipment), may detect a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) with a secondary cell (Scell) dormancy indication field. The user equipment can change states from an initial state to another state (e.g., a dormancy-like state to a non-dormancy like state) based on detecting Scell indicator field in the PDCCH. The user equipment may also transmit a hybrid-ARQ acknowledgment (HARQ-ACK) in response to the detecting the PDCCH with the Scell dormancy indication field. A wireless device may receive a downlink (DL) reception indication during an active duration of a discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration. The DL reception indication may indicate the presence of a reception opportunity following an inactivity interval, as well as the length of the inactivity interval. The wireless device may refrain from DL monitoring during the inactivity interval. In some cases, the wireless device may enter a sleep mode during the inactivity interval and wake up to receive a subsequent transmission during the reception opportunity. In some examples, the wireless device may use the inactivity interval to communicate using a different radio access technology (RAT).

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine a mapping between synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) and a random access message of a two-step random access procedure based on an indication in system information signaling or radio resource control (RRC) signaling. The random access message may include a random access preamble and a random access payload. The UE may determine, based on the mapping, an association between one or more beams carrying the SSBs and one or more additional beams carrying the random access preamble and the random access payload of the random access message. As a result, the UE may perform the two-step random access procedure with a base station according to the beam association, and coexist with a four-step random access procedure in a more reliable and efficient manner.
