    摘要: An automated feeder may allow continuous and synchronized feeding of small trays to equipment for subsequent processing. Automated feeder includes a piston with a suction cup on a distal end. The suction cup may contact and extract via a vacuum trays disposed in a compartment disposed in front of the piston. The compartment may include a frame with rods projecting perpendicularly and at least one backstop to inhibit movement of the trays. A vacuum breaking means may be disposed between the piston and the frame, such that during extension of the piston a vacuum is generated to hold a tray. When the piston is retracted, the tray is pulled from the compartment, partially deforming corners of the tray which releases the tray from backstop(s) of the frame. The small tray falls down by gravity and is taken by a ramp to a conveyor to equipment for subsequent processing.

    摘要: An article handling apparatus embodied, for example, as a vending machine, includes a controllably positioned hose-type dispenser for retrieving articles from an article storage area. A first end of the hose receives article securing energy (e.g., suction), and a second end is adapted to secure to and extract a selected article from the storage area. A hose positioning mechanism controllably positions the second end of the hose for retrieving articles from the article storage area. In order to maximize the height of the article storage volume, as well as provide other advantages, the following aspects of the invention are provided:1. the hose positioning mechanism maintains a constant height during hose positioning,2. a hose drive means drives the hose in the article extraction direction by passing “THROUGH” the hose positioning mechanism,3. the hose is constrained for movement between a hose storage area and the hose positioning mechanism so as to move in the same space in which the hose positioning mechanism moves,4. the hose positioning mechanism carries therein the hose drive means, and5. the hose positioning mechanism may comprise an X-Y, R-Theta, or Scissors arrangement.

    摘要: A device for dispensing pills one at a time or one dose at a time includes a unit chamber fittable within/integral with the rim of a bottle. The unit chamber includes a plurality of radial projections which project inwardly to define discrete pill holding areas. The distance between adjacent radial projections is slightly larger than the width of the pill sought to be contained and dispensed by the container. As the bottle is inverted, pills will fall into the pill holding areas, one pill or dosage amount per area. A dispensing cap is rotatable relative to the unit chamber. A single pill-width window in the cap is positionable opposite the pill holding areas of the unit chamber. When a pill is meant to be dispensed, the bottle is inverted or angled downward, and a single pill in the pill holding area opposite the window falls out of the bottle.

    摘要: An automated dispensing assembly includes a base, and a shuttle mounted in the base and movable under automated control between a loading position and a dispensing position. The shuttle includes a cavity configured to carry an object, such as cover. The depth of the cavity in the shuttle is approximately the same (or less) as the thickness of one of the objects. A storage module is mounted proximate the shuttle. The storage module is configured to store a plurality of objects and includes an opening exposing the next object to be dispensed. The cavity is positioned adjacent the opening in the storage module in the loading position and an edge of the cavity separates the object to be dispensed from the other objects in the storage module as the shuttle moves to the dispensing position.
