摘要： A simulated weapon creates a muzzle flash and smoke effect. The simulated weapon has an elongated tube portion having a closed end and an open end. A high-intensity light source enters the elongated tube near the closed end. A communication passageway in the elongated tube conducts a pulse of theatrical haze through the weapon. A target illuminator is mounted on the elongated tube. A pressurized pulse of theatrical haze is delivered through a barrel of the weapon. The high-intensity light source is flashed as the pressurized pulse of theatrical haze exits the barrel.

摘要： In a live-action theater, a catapult launches a prop which achieves free flight in the theater. The catapult and prop are concealed until the moment of launch, whereupon the prop suddenly hurtles into an audience's view, and lands in front of the audience. The audience views the launch from a seating area or from a vehicle moved through the theater. The prop is for example, a seaplane or a jetski. The prop is then retrieved from the landing area using a crane or other lifter and returned to the catapult for a subsequent launch. By launching a prop in a theater with a catapult, the audience sees true free flight, rather than an illusion of flight. The audience sees no supports or other devices which can diminish the effect. A catapult allows a prop to be launched directly at the audience at a realistic or full speed, creating a more dramatic effect than if a prop is moved about some distant stage area using cables or a boom.

摘要： An apparatus for producing and viewing rainbows comprising a base portion, a body portion wherein the body portion is attached to the base, has a front side, a rear side and is generally vertically oriented with respect to the base portion. The apparatus further includes a fluid channel supported by the body portion. The fluid channel has a fluid inlet fluidly connected to a fluid source and a fluid outlet for producing a spray mist above the apparatus. The apparatus further comprises an element for optimally aligning the apparatus relative to the sun. The apparatus is optimally aligned when the front side of the body portion is substantially directly facing the sun. The user of the apparatus is able to view a rainbow created as a result of the sunlight being refracted by the spray mist emanating from the fluid outlet when the user is facing the front side of the body portion and the sun is at the user's back.

摘要： A method and apparatus for producing primary rainbows and secondary rainbows in a curtain of liquid droplets in the air, whereby the rainbows are produced by refractive dispersion within the droplets themselves, and whereby the rainbows are visible from directly opposite sides of the curtain of droplets. The curtain of liquid droplets is produced by a water fountain. The device of the invention comprises a source of radially distributed light and a source of liquid droplets. The light source can be an array of lights configured so that the light rays appear to emanate from a common center. The light source may also be a collimated light source such as a searchlight which reflects light off a mirror-like conical surface or a combination of such sources. The light source may also be a single light source in a covered curved reflector.
