摘要: Various embodiments of patient-mittens are disclosed and described. Such embodiments may include a hand-cover portion attached to a hollow elongate-sleeve portion. The hand-cover portion may cover the hand and fingers, preventing the patient from scratching themselves. The elongate-sleeve portion may cover a majority of an arm. Opposite from the hand-cover portion, there may be an arm-grabber attached at an end of the elongate-sleeve. This arm-grabber may squeeze the upper arm, above the elbow, to help keep the patient-mitten from coming off. Some embodiments, may include an access-slit on the elongate-sleeve for placing IVs and the like in a patient wearing the patient-mitten. The patient-mitten may help to minimize IVs and vital sign sensors from becoming dissociated from the patient. Some embodiments may be UV permeable to encourage vitamin D production in the patient. Some embodiments may provide a conducive environment for treating skin conditions on the arm, hand, or fingers.

摘要: The elasticized cushioned thermal glove provides heating, cooling, and compression modalities. The constant fluidity of the gel disposed in the gel bladders substantially throughout the glove palm side is in constant fluidity when heated and cooled. The gel is pre-heated via a power module, heatable when in use, and also pre-cooled prior to use. The glove is also provided as a compression glove to alleviate pain, swelling, and to provide for support for those in need. As the glove provides these heating and cooling advantages, fingers can be left in an open state to enhance dexterity as opposed to full-fingered gloves.

摘要: Provided is a data glove which imparts little discomfort when worn, and is capable of accurately detecting movement of a hand, comprising: a glove main body; and a plurality of strain sensors which are disposed on the dorsal side of the glove main body in regions corresponding to at least one finger, and which detect stretch and contraction of the glove main body. The strain sensors preferably include a first strain sensor and a second strain sensor which are disposed on the dorsal side of the glove main body to correspond respectively to a proximal interphalangeal joint and a metacarpophalangeal joint of at least one finger of the second through fifth fingers, and which detect stretch and contraction of the glove main body in a proximal-distal direction. The data glove preferably further comprises a plurality of stretch prevention parts which limit the elongation of the glove main body.

摘要: A glove for preventing the wearer from sucking a thumb or one or more fingers comprises a glove body made out of fabric that has a hand portion which receives the hand and a digit portion which receives the thumb and fingers. The digit portion comprises a tubular, open ended digit receiving member for each digit. Some of these are configured as affected members for receiving the affected digits, those being the digits the wearer normally sucks. The affected members extend substantially the entire length of their respective digit. At least one anti-sucking component, preferably an elongated tube, extends along the length of the affected member, but not completely to its open end. The channel defined by the anti-sucking component prevents the wearer from achieving a vacuum against the affected member, thereby preventing suction. The glove has a securing mechanism that prevents the wearer from easily removing the glove.

摘要: Glove structures may include front and back portions. A knuckle support assembly may be attached to the back portion. The knuckle support assembly may include a knuckle support member having at least one cutout coincident with at least one metacarpophalangeal joint and a flexible member extending across the at least one cutout. The knuckle support member may have a greater flexural stiffness than the back portion. The material of the knuckle support member may be more elastically stretchable than the material of the back portion. The material of the flexible member may be more elastically stretchable than the material of the back portion. The knuckle support member may be molded to the flexible member. Alternatively, the knuckle support member and the flexible member may be fuse bonded to one another. Methods for making such glove structures are also provided.

摘要: Persons find heated gloves desirable for a variety of reasons, including arthritis and cold weather. Having gloves that can be heated in a microwave provides a convenient way to supply heat. By having gloves that are fingerless, use of touch-screen devices and precise work, such as sewing and knitting, is permitted. By having gloves that offer compression, persons with conditions such as arthritis or edema may find them desirable. Additionally, compression may make limbs colder and so the ability to supply heat may be advantageous. This invention offers a set of gloves with combinations of heat, fingerlessness, and compression.
