Abstract:
Systems and methods for performing a simplified risk assessment are provided. A historical transaction value for past transactions associated with related promissory payments is maintained. A request is received from a merchant to determine authorization of a financial transaction associated with a proffered promissory payment. The historical transaction value associated with the related promissory payments is accessed and determination, based on the historical transaction value, of whether to authorize the financial transaction based on a risk score or whether to authorize the financial transaction based on data stored in a negative database is made.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and machine-readable media are disclosed for filtering marketing messages sent to a mobile device. According to one embodiment, a method for filtering marketing messages sent to a mobile device can comprise receiving preference information from a user of the mobile device, the preference information indicating marketing offers the user considers to be relevant and generating one or more rules based on the preference information, the one or more rules defining conditions for marketing offers to be sent to the mobile device. The method can further comprise receiving marketing information related to at least one marketing offer, applying the one or more rules to the marketing information, and sending the marketing offer to the mobile device based on applying the one or more rules to the marketing information.
Abstract:
The invention involves a system and a method of determining collectability of a check writer from a database including negative information of a plurality of check writers for check writing approval or denial. The invention provides for an improvement of determining collectability of a check writer in order to more effectively distinguish between collectible check writers and non-collectible check writers. The invention includes receiving the information of the check writer, processing the information to determine a score of the check writer, classifying the check writer within a predetermined category, and removing or retaining the check writer information from the database, depending on the category within which the check writer is classified.
Abstract:
A risk assessment system and method that calculates the risk of approving certain financial transactions, such as payment by check, and provides an indication as to whether to accept or decline the check. The system and method further include a process for calculating the risk of overturning the original decision whereby indications of whether to overturn a particular original transaction decline can be provided to a customer service agent such that the overturn decision is based upon the calculation of overturn risk using one or more overturn scoring modules.
Abstract:
Embodiments may relate to systems and methods for distributing incentives to encourage subsequent action. In one embodiment, a method to facilitate encouraging consumer behavior can be provided. The method may include electronically identifying a consumer to be a recipient of an incentive device by a marketing system, wherein the incentive device is associated with a marketing campaign defining at least one predefined activity to be performed by the consumer prior to activating the incentive device, and wherein the incentive device has inherent value that is available for redemption upon activation. The method may further include storing consumer data associating the consumer with the incentive device in the marketing system. In addition, the method may include distributing the incentive device to the consumer in an inactivated state, and electronically activating the incentive device only upon receipt of an indication that the consumer has satisfied the at least one predefined activity.
Abstract:
According to the invention, a method for transferring a credit amount out of an online system using a money order is disclosed. In one step, pay-out instructions are received at a server computer system from a wide-area computer network coupled to a payor. The pay-out instructions include at least two of a payee, a delivery location, and the credit amount. A first handler associated with the payor and a second handler for preparation of the money order according to the pay-out instructions are determined. The credit amount is transferred from the first handler to the online system. The pay-out instructions are sent to the second handler.
Abstract:
A method for producing and weighing a mailing unit that is formed from a plurality of components including inserts and envelopes comprises the steps of determining a weight for each of the components and electronically storing a record of the weights. The inserts are placed into the envelope to form the mailing unit, and the weight of the mailing unit is determined based on the weights of the components utilized to form the mailing unit that are stored in the weight record.
Abstract:
A method for processing a check transaction includes receiving transaction information that is transmitted by a terminal; determining eligibility of the transaction for payment via a bank account; providing an electronic authorization response that is transmitted to the terminal, the authorization response including a unique transaction identifier if the transaction is eligible for payment via the bank account; and receiving an electronic response packet that is transmitted by the terminal if the transaction is eligible for payment via the bank account, the response packet including the unique transaction identifier and a transaction decision regarding payment via the bank account.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide systems and methods for increasing participation in loyalty programs. In embodiments, the customer opts into a loyalty program. The customer is then provided with information about his or her loyalty participation and also is provided with information about one or more other customer's participation in the loyalty program. In another embodiment, one or more loyalty members can form their own competition or group within the loyalty program. The members can create loyalty sub-program rules for a competition and allow fellow loyalty members to participate in the competition. The customizable loyalty sub-program competitions further enhance member participation.
Abstract:
A public key and digital signature is provided using a private key of a public-private key pair in an elliptic curve digital signature algorithm (ECDSA) by: identifying domain parameters of an elliptic curve for use in elliptic curve cryptography, the domain parameters including an initial generating point; transforming the generating point into a new generating point as a deterministic function; generating the public key as a deterministic function of the private key and the domain parameters, in which the new generating point is substituted for the initial generating point; and generating the digital signature as a function of the private key and the domain parameters, in which the new generating point is substituted for the initial generating point.
