The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for channel estimation in a wireless communication system. A method for operating a transmitter comprises the operations of: transmitting a first reference signal through a first antenna; and transmitting a second reference signal through a second antenna, wherein the first reference signal includes a first Golay sequence, and the second reference signal includes a second Golay sequence.
