Abstract:
A display apparatus includes an array substrate that includes a display area including a pixel and a non-display area adjacent to the display area, an opposite substrate facing the array substrate, a liquid crystal layer disposed between the array substrate and the opposite substrate, and a signal input pad electrically connected to the pixel to apply an external input signal to the pixel. Each of the array substrate and the opposite substrate has an inner surface facing the liquid crystal layer and an outer surface opposite to the respective inner surface, and the signal input pad is disposed on the outer surface of either the array substrate or the opposite substrate.
Abstract:
A display device includes a substrate including a plurality of pixel areas and a non-pixel area disposed between the pixel areas, a tunnel-shaped cavity disposed on the substrate in each of the pixel areas, an image display layer disposed in the tunnel-shaped cavity, a roof layer disposed on the tunnel-shaped cavity and having an upper planarized surface, a black matrix disposed on the substrate in the non-pixel area, and a reflective electrode disposed under the tunnel-shaped cavity in a predetermined area of each of the pixel areas to reflect an external light.
Abstract:
A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate having a display area and a non-display area; a second substrate; a sealing unit between the first and second substrates; the sealing unit surrounding the display area; a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first and second substrates; the liquid crystal layer surrounded by the sealing unit; at least one containment barrier between the sealing unit and the display area. The containment barrier may have a tapering angle different from that of a pattern formed on the display area.
Abstract:
A display apparatus includes a substrate that includes a plurality of pixel areas, a display area including first and second non-pixel areas extending to cross each other, and a non-display area adjacent to the display area, a plurality of first electrodes on the substrate in the pixel areas, a plurality of second electrodes extending in a first direction and upwardly spaced apart from the substrate in the pixel areas to form first tunnel-shaped cavities, an image display area in each of the first tunnel-shaped cavities, and a plurality of dummy electrodes in first cross areas defined by an intersection of the first and second non-pixel areas adjacent to boundaries of the display area in the first direction. The dummy electrodes are upwardly spaced apart from the substrate in the first cross areas by a predetermined distance to form dummy tunnel-shaped cavities.
