Abstract: An illumination device includes: a plurality of light source assemblies; and a plate-shaped optical unit on which light source light beams from the plurality of light source assemblies are incident from mutually different directions, and the plate-shaped optical unit is sectioned into a reflection surface and a transmission surface in accordance with an incident light intensity distribution of each of the light source light beams. Then, transmitted light having passed through the plate-shaped optical unit among the light source light beams and reflected light having been reflected by the plate-shaped optical unit among the light source light beams are emitted with directions aligned, and a boundary between the transmission surface and the reflection surface in the plate-shaped optical unit is formed at a position where incident light intensities of the light source light beams individually from the plurality of light source assemblies have substantially equal values to each other.

Abstract: Where a reproduction image of each wavelength band is obtained by performing spatial light phase modulation on a plurality of light beams of different wavelength bands, the present technology improves luminance of the reproduction image while reducing a size and cost of an optical system. A lighting device according to the present technology includes: a light emitting unit that emits a plurality of light beams of different wavelength bands; a phase modulator that performs spatial light phase modulation on light beams of the different wavelength bands from the light emitting unit that are incident on respective phase modulation areas that are areas of a phase modulation surface; and a control unit that simultaneously executes the spatial light phase modulation in the phase modulation areas in a state in which the light beams of the corresponding wavelength bands are incident on the respective phase modulation areas.

Abstract: Provided is a projection system using a projection device that simultaneously projects on a plurality of projection surfaces. A projection system includes: a user recognition unit that recognizes a user existing in a space; a projection environment recognition unit that recognizes a projection surface on which a video can be projected in the space; and a control unit that controls a projection device so as to project a video on the projection surface recognized by the projection environment recognition unit for the user recognized by the user recognition unit. The projection device can simultaneously project a video on a plurality of surfaces.
