Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a New Radio (NR) cell, an Internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) configuration message. The UE may receive, from the NR cell, an instruction to fallback to a legacy cell. The UE may store a response to the IMS configuration message based at least in part on receiving the instruction to fallback. The UE may transmit, to the legacy cell and before transmitting another IMS message, the response to the IMS configuration message. Numerous other aspects are described.
