Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network node, one or more control channel symbols in a subframe. The UE may activate a sleep mode for the subframe irrespective of a control channel decoding result associated with the one or more control channel symbols, wherein the control channel decoding result is associated with a presence or an absence of a downlink shared channel grant.
