An electromotive unit includes a linear motor, a motor case containing the linear motor, a movable element connected with the linear motor and reciprocatingly driven with respect to the motor case, and a sealing material sealing the gap between the movable element and the opening of the motor case. The sealing material includes a contact portion contacting the movable element; and a recessed portion formed around contact portion, having a ring-shaped groove facing the outside of the motor case, and elastically deformable according to reciprocating movement of the movable element. This aspect provides an electromotive unit that hardly generates noise while the movable element is being reciprocatingly driven; and a small-size electrical appliance including the electromotive unit.

Electric shaver includes body, head having blade block, and head supporting part connecting body with head. Head supporting part includes swing supporting part supporting head swingably about two swing axes, and head float part so that head is movable up and down with respect to body. This configuration allows head to swing about the two axes, and thus head easily follows undulations of skin. Head is movable up and down with respect to body, and thus head sinks with respect to body when head is strongly pressed against the skin. The aspect provides electric shaver that has a high follow-up performance of head swinging according to undulations of skin and hardly irritates the skin strongly.

This slit blade block includes multiple comb teeth adjacent to multiple outer blade pieces. Each comb tooth has a leading end surface, and a protruding part protruding in a direction away from the outer blade pieces. The protruding parts include an apical part that is the outermost end in said direction away from the outer blade pieces. The leading end surfaces of the protruding parts are positioned between the leading end surfaces and the base end surfaces of the adjacent outer blade pieces. Length L1 in the height direction, defined by the apical part of the protruding parts and the leading end surfaces of the protruding parts, is less than or equal to thickness L2 of the outer blade pieces, defined by the leading end surface and the base end surface of the outer blade pieces.
