Abstract: A capacitor element includes an anode body including a porous region located at a surface of the anode body, a dielectric layer that covers at least a part of the anode body, and a cathode layer that covers at least a part of the dielectric layer. The anode body includes an anode part and a cathode formation part on which the cathode layer is disposed, the cathode formation part being adjacent to the anode part. At least a part of the porous region of the anode part includes a thin-thickness region that is thinner than the porous region in the cathode formation part, and a metal substrate is stacked on at least a part of the thin-thickness region. The metal substrate is denser than the porous region in the cathode formation part.

Abstract: A solid electrolytic capacitor element includes an anode body, a dielectric layer that is formed on the surface of the anode body, and a cathode part that covers at least a portion of the dielectric layer. The cathode part includes a solid electrolyte layer that covers at least a portion of the dielectric layer, and includes a metallic particle-containing layer that contains metallic particles and a cured resin binder in at least a portion of the cathode part. The metallic particles include first metallic particles each containing silver and second metallic particles each containing silver. The first metallic particles each includes a core and a silver-containing coating layer that coats the core. Each of the second metallic particles is at least one selected from the group consisting of a silver particle and a silver alloy particle.

Abstract: An electrode foil for a solid electrolytic capacitor includes a metal foil, which has a first portion on which a solid electrolyte layer is to be formed and a second portion on which the solid electrolyte layer is not to be formed. The metal foil includes, in at least the first portion, a porous portion and a core portion continuous with the porous portion. In a cross section taken in a direction parallel to the thickness direction of the first portion, the percentage of area occupied by the core portion is 40% or more.

Abstract: A solid electrolytic capacitor 10 disclosed herein includes: a plurality of capacitor elements 11 stacked on top of each other, each capacitor element having an anode portion 13 and a cathode portion 14; an anode lead terminal 17 electrically connected to at least one of the anode portions 13; and three or more joining portions 20 joining and electrically connecting the stacked anode portions 13 together. The stacked anode portions 13 have a first surface 13a and a second surface 13b that are located outermost on one side and the other side, respectively, in the stacking direction. The three or more joining portions 20 include a first joining portion 21 having a first area on the first surface 13a and a second joining portion 22 having a second area smaller than the first area on the first surface 13a. Thus, variation in ESR can be reduced.

Abstract: An electrolytic capacitor includes a capacitor element having: an anode; a dielectric layer covering at least a part of the anode body; a solid electrolyte layer covering at least a part of the dielectric layer; and a cathode lead-out layer covering at least a part of the solid electrolyte layer. The cathode lead-out layer includes a carbon layer covering at least a part of the solid electrolyte layer, a first metal layer covering at least a part of the carbon layer, and a second metal layer covering at least a part of the first metal layer. The first metal layer contains first metal particle, and the second metal layer contains second metal particles and a second binder resin. The first metal layer contains no binder resin, or contains a first binder resin in a volume ratio smaller than a volume ratio of the second binder resin contained in the second metal layer.
