Abstract: Example embodiments relate to a system for monitoring biosignals and also to a patch and an apparatus which may include part of the system. The system may include a patch including a surface for attachment to a user, first sensors for sensing respective first biosignals of the user, and a transmitter for wirelessly transmitting first biosignal data representing the first biosignals of the user. The system may also include an apparatus for being worn or placed over the patch, the apparatus including second sensors at or near a lower surface thereof for sensing respective second biosignals of the user and providing second biosignal data representing the second biosignals. The apparatus may also include a receiver for wirelessly receiving the first biosignal data from the patch. The patch may include recesses or apertures for alignment with the second sensors when the apparatus is worn or placed over the patch.

Abstract: Example embodiments describe an apparatus, method and computer program relating to cancellation of ultrasonic signals. The apparatus may comprise means for providing first data derived from a signal received by a microphone of a user device and means for providing second data representing mechanical oscillations within a gyroscope of the user device. The apparatus may also comprise means for detecting, based on the first data and the second data, that the signal received by the microphone comprises an ultrasonic signal, means for processing third data to generate fourth data representing an estimate of one or more audible sounds in the first data, wherein the third data is either the second data or is derived from the second data, and means for subtracting the fourth data from the first data to provide fifth data.

Microphones of a portable device are used to determine a location of a sound source relative to the at least one portable device and the location of the sound source is compared with respective locations for the two or more candidate devices. A candidate device for connecting to the at least one portable device is selected based, at least in part, on the comparison between the location of the sound source and a location for the selected candidate device.

Abstract: A method is provided that includes determining a quality of a data portion of an input sensor data stream based, at least in part, on data of a first data type and determining between, at least, generation of two or more streams of a second, different data type including at least one synthesised data stream of the second data type. Determining between generation of two or more streams of a second, different data type is based, at least in part, on the determined quality. The synthesis is based, at least in part, on the data of the first data type. The method further includes causing generation of at least one stream of the second, different data type based, at least in part, on the determination between generation of two or more streams of the second, different data type.
