Provided is an air cleaning system and a method of controlling the same. The air cleaning system includes a particle separation device for suctioning indoor air to separate microbial particles from air particles, a collection device collecting the micro-bial particles separated by the particle separation device, a luminescence measurement device for detecting an amount or intensity of light emitted from the microbial particles collected in the collection device, and at least one air cleaning device that selectively operates on the basis of contamination of the microbial particles detected by the luminescence measurement device.

A plasma device and an air conditioner including a plasma device are provided. The plasma device may include a substrate body, a first electrode disposed on one or a first surface of the substrate body to perform plasma discharge, and a second electrode disposed on the other or a second surface of the substrate body to act with the first electrode. The substrate body may include a third electrode that acts with the first electrode or the second electrode to perform the plasma discharge, and an insulator that surrounds the third electrode.

Provided are an airborne microbial measurement apparatus and a method of measuring the same. The airborne microbial measurement apparatus includes a particle separation device including a main body having a flow space in which airborne microorganism flows and a collection unit separably coupled to one side of the main body to collect the airborne microorganism, a reagent container in which a lysis reagent reacting with the airborne microorganism collected in the collection unit and a luminous material are stored, and a luminescence measurement device for measuring intensity of light emitted after the airborne microorganism reacts with the lysis reagent and the luminous material.

The device for measuring floating micro-organisms may include an air flow path through which air including floating micro-organisms may flow, a first main body provided at a first side of the air flow path and having a first space and a second space, a second main body provided at a second side of the air flow path and in which a collecting portion to collect the floating micro-organisms may be provided, a light emitter provided in the first space that emits a predetermined wavelength range of light toward the collecting portion, and a light receiver provided in the second space that detects a fluorescence signal generated from light which acts on riboflavin contained in the floating micro-organisms.

A sterilization and deodorization apparatus is provided. The sterilization and deodorization apparatus may include a frame that defines an outer appearance of the sterilization and deodorization apparatus, a plasma unit or device disposed on or at one or a first side of the frame, the plasma unit forming a plasma region to generate a plurality of ions, and a filter unit or filter disposed on the other or a second side of the frame which is spaced apart from the frame. The filter unit may include a filter frame having a plurality of through-holes so that air passes therethrough, and a photocatalyst applied to the filter frame to perform photocatalytic reaction.
