    Abstract: A linear compressor includes, a cylinder, a piston configured to reciprocate inside the cylinder, a motor configured to supply driving force to the piston, a detector configured to detect a motor current and a motor voltage that are applied to the motor, and a controller configured to estimate a stroke of the piston based on the motor current and the motor voltage and to determine a phase difference between the stroke and the motor current. The controller is configured to detect operation information of the linear compressor, determine whether to perform a resonance operation based on the operation information, and control operation of the motor to allow the phase difference to be within a preset phase range.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling a linear compressor and a linear compressor and a refrigerator having the same are provided. The apparatus may include a drive configured to drive the linear compressor based on a control signal, a detector configured to detect a motor current of the linear compressor, an asymmetric current generator configured to generate an asymmetric motor current by applying a current offset to the detected motor current, and a controller configured to generate the control signal based on the asymmetric motor current. The current offset may be changed based on a change in a position of a piston of the linear compressor.

    Abstract: A linear compressor according to the present disclosure may include a piston reciprocating within a cylinder, a motor providing a driving force for the motion of the piston, a sensing unit configured to sense a motor voltage and a motor current associated with the motor, a discharge portion provided at one end of the cylinder to regulate the discharge of refrigerant compressed in the cylinder, a control unit configured to compute at least one control parameter associated with the motion of the piston using at least one of the motor voltage and the motor current sensed by the sensing unit, and a deep learning operation unit configured to receive the control parameter, and output a compensation value associated with an absolute position of the piston using artificial neural network technology.
