Abstract: Techniques are described for taking direct actions, such as selectively blocking or allowing traffic and applications, while monitoring events from a graphical representation of threats. As such, the administrator in an enterprise interacts with the graphical representation of threats rendered by the security management system to automatically invoke a policy/rule module of the security management system to configure and update security policies for the security devices deployed throughout the computer networks of the enterprise. An administrator may, for example, interact with the representation of threats rendered by the threat control module based on the data aggregated from the distributed security devices and, responsive to the interaction, the security management system may identify a relevant set of the security devices, automatically construct security policies having ordered rules within the policies for the identified set of security devices, and automatically communicate and install the policies in the identified set of security devices.

Abstract: A disclosed method may include (1) querying, in connection with a monitoring service, a network device for device-specific data that identifies features of the network device, (2) determining, based at least in part on the device-specific data, identities of a set of ports on the network device, (3) identifying, based at least in part on the device-specific data, one or more port-specific data objects corresponding to the set of ports, (4) dynamically creating, based at least in part on the device-specific data, a device-visualization interface of the network device by (A) generating a graphical chassis widget that illustrates a logical view of the set of ports and (B) generating a graphical table that illustrates the port-specific data objects, and then (5) providing, in connection with the monitoring service, the device-visualization interface for presentation on a computing device. Various other systems and methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for intelligently grouping, ungrouping, collapsing, and/or expanding columns of data for effective presentation on a display screen. In one example, a method includes accessing, by a computing device, data organized into a plurality of columns, each column having one or more data characteristics; determining, by the computing device and based on at least some of the data characteristics of the columns, one or more column groups, each column group including a subset of the plurality of columns; determining, by the computing device and based on attributes of a window for presentation of the data, whether the plurality of columns will fit within the window; and in response to determining that the plurality of columns will not fit within the window, outputting a user interface presenting a column group as a single column within the window so that the plurality of columns fits within the window.
