Abstract: Disclosed herein are a hybrid download method and apparatus for multiview streaming. The hybrid download method includes requesting a group download for an n−1-th segment from a server, playing an n−3-th segment at a viewpoint VP1 of a viewer, when a group download request for the n−1-th segment is completed, making a group download request for an n-th segment, when a change in a viewpoint of the viewer occurs at a time at which an n−2-th segment is played, playing a low-quality n−2-th segment at a viewpoint VP3, when the group download for the n-th segment is completed, requesting a single download for a high-quality n−1-th segment corresponding to the viewpoint VP3 from the server, and when the single download for the high-quality n−1-th segment corresponding to the viewpoint VP3 is completed, playing the high-quality n−1-th segment at the viewpoint VP3.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method for transmitting and receiving compressed data and an apparatus therefor. According to the method for transmitting compressed data, a transmission apparatus for transmitting compressed data standardizes the value of an In-phase/Quadrature-phase (IQ) data sample to a preset type that is selected from among a positive number and a negative number, determines the sample type of the IQ data sample, the value of which is standardized to the preset type, based on a sample type determination rule, generates a compressed bit string based on the compression rule pertaining to the determined sample type, generates compressed data, including at least one of a reference bit corresponding to the sample type, the sign bit of the IQ data sample, and the compressed bit string, for each IQ data sample, and transmits the compressed data to a reception apparatus.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are an apparatus and method for providing a broadcasting service. Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method for simultaneously transmitting/receiving upstream and downstream signals using a remote PHY architecture and an apparatus for the same. The method determines whether to divide frequencies depending on whether signal interference occurs among multiple cable modems connected to a cable network, if it is determined to divide the frequencies, categorize the multiple cable modems into multiple groups so that signal interference occurs in each group, but signal interference does not occur between groups, set transmission bands for the multiple groups so that an upstream band and a downstream band of one group alternate with upstream bands and downstream bands of remaining groups by dividing the frequencies in accordance with a number of groups, and cancels, by a remote physical layer (PHY) device located at an optical network terminal of the cable network, self-interference signals for respective groups based on the transmission bands.

Abstract: A data compression apparatus includes a lossy compression unit for calculating, in advance, a reference error vector magnitude depending on lossy compression and decompression by removing lower bits from a data signal composed of bitstreams, for setting removal target lower bits satisfying a preset error vector magnitude requirement, and for lossily compressing the data signal by removing the removal target lower bits from the data signal, and a communication unit for transmitting the compressed data signal to a data decompression apparatus.
