Abstract: Systems and methods in accordance with various embodiments of the present disclosure provide secure handling of messages at a hardware-protocol level using a logic device on a server. Various embodiments provide approaches for filtering messages on various buses, such as SSIF, SMBus, PMBus, I2C, and SPI, within a server or a computer. Embodiments may include a policy engine through which message handling logic applied to a given bus or buses may be implemented. A message is compared to one or more policies. The message is allowed to be transmitted to a baseboard management controller based on the one or more policies and a type of message.

Abstract: Power systems and methods for supplying direct current power to a server rack via a power shelf assembly that includes multiple power supply units (PSUs) and a power shelf controller (PSC) that ensures a correct configuration of PSUs, backup battery units (BBUs), and connection components using a power shelf configuration record. Upon a boot cycle of the PSC, the configuration identified in the power shelf controller is compared to an actual configuration of the components being connected between a server rack and the power shelf assembly to avoid providing power too soon and causing an overload of components for the server rack.

Abstract: A management controller may request units of diagnostic information from a BIOS of the management controller's host computing device. The management controller may trigger an interrupt, in response to which the BIOS, by the execution of a processor of the host, may cause the diagnostic information to be copied to a video memory of the management controller. Upon the completion of the interrupt handler, a graphics controller of the management controller may cause the diagnostic information to be transferred to a non-volatile memory, and transferred out-of-band to a client device.
