    Abstract: In one aspect of the present disclosure, a display system is disclosed, such as a wearable head-mounted display (HMD), that includes an internal system housing and a movable display stack. The display stack includes a display panel, a carrier supporting the display panel, and a heat sink that are secured together such that the display panel, the carrier, and the heat sink are movable in unison within the system housing to adjust focus of the display panel. The carrier and/or the heat sink respectively include first and second thermal solutions to facilitate heat transfer away from the display panel, which may include a material having high thermal-conductivity properties and/or any structure that is configured to increase the exposed surface area of the carrier and/or the heat sink, such as projections or extensions (e.g., fins), recesses, slits, openings, or the like.

    Abstract: An electronic device may have a housing. The housing may enclose an interior cavity. A speaker may be mounted in an opening in the housing. The interior cavity may serve as a sealed back volume for the speaker during normal operation of the speaker. During normal operation, control circuitry in the interior cavity plays audio content through the speaker. When it is desired to cool the control circuitry and the speaker, the control circuitry supplies a subaudible signal to the speaker. Airflow regulators having one-way valves and valves that are controlled by the control circuitry are mounted in the housing. Movement of a diaphragm in the speaker when the subaudible speaker is applied causes the diaphragm to pump air through the airflow regulators, creating a cooling airflow through the interior cavity.

    Abstract: A system may have a support structure and a glass layer that separate an exterior region surrounding the system from an interior region. Components may be mounted in the interior region. The components may include an optical component. The glass layer may have a first area that overlaps the optical component and that serves as an optical component window for the optical component. The glass layer may also have a second area that surrounds the first area and does not overlap the optical component. The first area may be selectively weakened relative to the second area to prevent excessive glass fracturing during a damage event from obscuring the optical component.     Abstract: A head-mounted device may include a display system and an optical system in a housing. The display system may have displays that produce images. The optical system may have Fresnel lenses through which a user of the head-mounted device may view the images. The Fresnel lenses may have concentric rings with slope facets and draft facets angled parallel to the chief rays. Light scattering in the Fresnel lenses may be reduced by coating the draft facets with opaque masking material and/or by aligning concentric rings of the opaque masking material that are supported on a transparent substrate with the draft facets. A central portion of the Fresnel lens that is free of facets may be enlarged to reduce scattering. The Fresnel lenses may have wedge-shaped cross-sectional profiles and may have outer portions that are thicker than inner portions. Gradient-index material may be used in forming the Fresnel lenses.
