Each of the domains includes first and second sides, a first horizontal edge, and a second horizontal edge facing the first horizontal edge. The second side is parallel with the column direction and the first side is parallel with a first slanted direction. A slit is defined between adjacent branch electrodes. The slit has a first width adjacent to the first horizontal edge, and a second width adjacent to the second horizontal edge.
